First of all all of the ladies in the female cast are deceased except for the little girl. The late Susan Anspach sadly died in 2018 I recall her work in "Five Easy Pieces" that you can find here on Prime. The late actress Mary Frann died in 1998 , Edie Adams who was the former Mrs (Eddie Kovacs) died in 2008. There is someone who is very special to me that appeared in this movie.. many of you may know who I am referring to..? She was the "GREATEST" female dancer in Old Hollywood .. Cyd Charisse ..! I had the honor of meeting her in 2005.. at her home in Beverly hills/Century City area. I have the photograph to prove it.. ! She sadly died in 2008 from a heart attack.. Actor Tony Bill is also a director ... The locations were shot around (S.F.V) Ventura blvd and Beverly hills..the story about a single mom working as an escort ..isn't like the "Call girls'.. There was a time that a "Dinner escort" was a real job..until the late 1970's..when the telephone books printed them. During the AIDS epidemic these "shady agencies" began popping up until 2010..when the internet took hold. Yes a real escort was paid to attend public functions and NOT ..engage in the actions that Ms.Frann's character was doing off "The Clock".. What bothered me was the mother talking to her "big mouthed " daughter about her personal affairs? Then suddenly the little girl "spills" the ...beans to the lady who's assisting the actor in her guest house.? There is such a thing as being "Open,Frank and HonesT" ..but sometimes it's best to ........shhh.! The daughter had no clue the danger's ...she could have been placing her mother in..? So not to spoil the movie for you... check it out and see what a real E-c-r-...was before the madness got out of hand..

There are negative reviews here, probably because the story unfolds slowly. It's a simple plot, but it's a mystery yarn that unfolds well. If you like movies made in the 80s with plenty of LA location shots, then this is worth viewing. It has a really good cast, good soundtrack, realistic 80s stage sets and ambiance. The quality of the print is excellent. It's a good choice for retro movie fans.

A backwards social commentary about single mothers.

It moved slow and was barely watchable. A backwards social commentary about single mothers, even for the time it was produced. This person really hated women.

1980 made for TV movie that is really bad

Sad plot, poor execution. Why does Amazon Video put up 1980 made for TV movies that were never good, even back then? Not worth the time or space to keep it.
