Libenson is “positively” great!

Middle grade graphic novels are my not-so-secret guilty pleasure. One of my absolute favorites is Invisible Emmie, which I read in 2017. When I learned that Libenson had a new graphic novel coming out, I immediately put myself on the library hold list last summer but never got around to reading it! When it was on sale a few months ago, I snapped up the Kindle edition; what a great buy!
Like her first novel, Libenson tackles another adolescent topic: labels. Sometimes it’s nice to be known as “the brain” or “the drama girl” but these can prove to be too confining. There are plenty of things that we can be interested in and even excel at outside of our comfort zone. That’s always a positive takeaway even for adults. I also liked how the author carried the dual narrators into this novel as well. Hoping she’ll have something new for us this summer!
