We bought this Power Wheels (the red jeep) for our 2.5 year old daughter who became VERY interested in driving- wanting to drive my and my husband's car. This is the next best thing and it has been her favorite 'toy' to play with all summer. Nearly everyday she wants to 'ride my Jeep.' This has been a great purchase!
The assembly was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. It required my husband and I---I was read the directions and get the appropriate pieces in place for him and he would assemble. We passed the IKEA furniture test a long time ago to test our marriage so this was a breeze. I would say it took about 1.5 hours total-including putting on the stickers. We particularly wanted a Power Wheels that had a 2 seater for when friends come over and I can say that this easily fits two 2.5 year old girls with room to spare. I do wish now that it had a remote control since my daughter hasn't quite mastered steering, but she is getting better at it.

After looking at many vehicles like this I settled on the Fisher Price, primarily because of weight capacity (130 lbs versus 70 lbs for cheap Chinese off brand) and reviews. I received it ahead of promise date, well packaged. Assembly took about 90 minutes, including decals. Instructions are absolutely the best step-by-step instructions with pictures that I have ever seen in a product of similar complexity. It is so well designed and of high enough quality that if you think you have to force something you need to stop and reread the instructions. Stress parts are either steel or nylon. It comes with a 9ah 12v sealed battery that lasts for a couple of hours. I feel certain that this will still be running long after my grandkids outgrow it. Another good thing is that replacement parts are available and there is even a website that has parts to soup it up!

Missing Parts, Stress cracks

Parents, a suggestion. If you purchase this item, don't put it together right away. Inspect the frame, make sure you don't see a bunch of stress cracks. Also take inventory of all the parts. I didn't do either, and had to wait another 3 weeks to have it finally functioning. The package arrived and midway through, I noticed several stress cracks in the plastic around the wheel well. It likely won't affect the vehicle in the long run and isn't visible once the fender trim parts are on. However, not exactly what you expect when you spend $300. Also the box was missing the rear axle, which is obviously vital to the construction. I could have returned this to Amazon, but the thought of taking the vehicle apart, trying to place the parts back into the box gave me a headache. Also, I'm sure Amazon would have either just thrown the contents into the landfill or sent it back to Fisher Price to also dispose of it. I didn't want to do that to the environment.

Fisher Price Customer service was responsive. They said they could replace the frame, or in my case, I elected to just have the cracks documented, in case they got worse later to be addressed. They also sent out the rear axle, and a Hot Wheels set for my son, for the inconvenience. Took a few weeks, but they came through. Like I said, parents, just check the contents before you spend an hour putting it together.

I wish I had one when I was a kid! So far, the battery usually lasts at least a 1/2 hour or about two miles. There's two speeds for forward and one for reverse. The slow speed goes a little slower than normal walking speed and the fast speed goes about as fast as a slow jogging speed. I like that there's a screw to lock out the faster speed for younger kids (late 2 early 3?). I think this Jeep is good for kids between late 2 - 5 our 6ish? My son just turned 4 and I think he's perfect size for it (of course I do). See the attached video. We've already been riding it for about a half hour at that point. It was on the fast speed and going about normal walking speed. The battery does slowly drain so it does give you a heads-up that its starting to run low on battery. I don't know exactly how long it takes to fully charge it but it's at least a few hours. You do need to assemble the Jeep but if you're good with directions, it's pretty straight forward. It took at least an hour to set up.

We researched this jeep at toys r us and ended up getting a better deal through Amazon with free shipping. The box is huge and luckily I was able to get the postal carrier to deliver it to the back door since it would have likely been stolen off our porch while we were at work. Assembly was laboreous but I expected that. It was pretty straight forward though. Placing the stickers straight was the hardest part. The directions state pretty specific battery charging guidelines for optimal performance. We forgot to take it off the charger and nearly doubled the length for the first charge but we don't see any ill effects yet. The batteries are just nicad so I don't have inflated expectations for life but so far so good. Most importantly my son loves it! I love that it's not too big for the garage and that when we take it for rides, I can use the roll-bar as a handlebar- saving him from wrecks or streering him out of ditches.

I love this car! :-) This car fits both my sons and it’s roomy. It’s kind of funny I weigh 130 pounds and I’m 5-1 and I sat in the car and started it and it was able to move. Both my kids will have a few years of fun. my four-year-old and almost 1-year-old baby love it. For the most part it was easy to assemble. Definitely pay attention to instructions. It’s very spacious. I like that the battery charges underneath the hood instead of underneath the seat like some power wheels do. There’s even room in the back for Water bottle, sippy cups or atoy or two behind the seat. The battery even came charged up a little. I would recommend charging the battery all the way before using it because it will die quickly if not charged right out of the box.

We have used it both indoors (although it is a little too fast and our house is a little too small for ideal indoor use) and outdoors (preferable). Traction on grass could be improved- the wheels occasional slip if a slight incline or the grass is a little wet.
