I Know It's Bad, But I Love It
Verified purchase
This film rightfully hasn't won any Oscars. The directing is awful. The script is at times contrite and excessively predictable. It manages to entirely skip the pointed commentary about the responsibilities of royalty that made its predecessor so good and yet it manages to be charming. I like the love story and the poorly orchestrated deus ex machina that resolves the central conflict of the film. I'm a sucker for happy stories. I know objectively it's bad, but I like it all the same.

So well done

Loved the mattress surfing; the casting and acting were great. Cute story. Gorgeous costumes. Totally Disney though; happy, predictable endings all 'round. Still watchable over and over.

Just as good as the first
Verified purchase
Surprisingly, this was just as good as the first which isn't seen often in sequels. There were lots of laughs, awkward moments and sweet ones as well. Having Julia Andrews sing was amazing! This is definitely one I hope is considered to be a classic someday as it has so many good elements mixed it.

The Princess Diaries

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The actors and actresses are my favorites. Though this movie may not be for everyone, it was definitely one that I enjoyed. Because the comedy wasn't filthy and it was just plain fun.

Princess Mia has to get married...
Verified purchase
Princess Mia has been busy since we left her in the Princess Diaries. She has had Princess lessons, and has also just graduated from college.

Queen Clarisse, Mia's grandmother, wants to step down so that Mia can become Queen but the royal ad visors say that she can not be Queen until she is married. There is another hiccup also. Viscount Maybrey wants his nephew Nicholas Devereaux to be King since he also has royal ancestry. The advisers say they will give Mia one month to find a husband and then she can become Queen.

Mia is given a list of suitable husbands (one of which was Prince William) and she picks Andrew Jacoby, Duke of Kenilworth. They get engaged to be married, but Mia finds herself falling for Nicholas instead (even though she cannot stand him.) Things come to a head at Mia and Andrew's wedding. What happens after? Watch the movie.

This is a very good sequel to The Princess Diaries and Anne Hathaway and Chris Pine (who plays Nicholas) are great.

Great sequel for 11-yr-old girl

My 11-yr-old loved this movie. She is a princess movie fan. And, she likes Anne Hathaway. She thinks this is a great sequel.

One of the dumbest movies I’ve seen!! Couldn’t believe the first one was so good and this one is dumb the way they act. The party either kids was really stupid.

Delightful and funny

The further adventures of Princess Mia Thermopolis.
This sequel is better than the original, I think.
Mia has thirty days in which to get married or lose
her right to the throne, so they have to find a
husband for her. She also has to fight others,
including a handsome nobleman, who are trying to
take her throne. Good acting. Anne Hathaway is
just so funny as the klutzy, but pretty Princess Mia,
and Julie Andrews is charming as usual as her grandmother
the Queen. Nice family movie.
