Not enough romance for a romance novel. So much more context could've been added to this book. The fact Dax was a shifter is barely acknowledged and there were no scenes where he shifted, where anyone actually shifted. The plot and premise was good, but still could've been more.

Shifters. Protectors. Domestic abuse. Entertaining. Interesting. Exciting. Engrossing. Funny. Sad. Life changing. Easy to read.

Megan Mccoy has a really good. It was gripping. I could not put this book down once I started reading it. The story is about Miranda and Dax. Miranda is put under the protection of Dax after her boyfriend tries to kill her. This story was not just about these 2 people though. It had side stories about the parents, cousins Et cetera that made the story flow. It talked about the community involvement in protecting whin protecting women who were running from whatever whatever they were running from. I hope this lady writes more stories on the lines of this family and what they do. I cannot wait to read another story from her.

Miranda was an amazing CEO of her own company, but her world changed when she met Eli. She thought he was an amazing man and didn't listen to any warnings others gave her. Then she ended up in the hospital from where he had beat her so badly. When she needed a place to escape to the Kinkirk family offered her a place. Dax is the man she is living with and helping her heal. Sparks fly between them. However, Dax is always there for her. What will happen when her nightmare shows up in her sanctuary? Will something more grow between her and Dax?

This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. This is a book for any book lover.

I could not get enough of Dax and Miranda. The chemistry between them was apparent from the get go. Characters were well written and you lose yourself in the story. Loved the book.

Suspenseful sexy slow burn.

Strong and successful, Miranda is troubled when she finds herself in need of a safe place to heal and regroup after suffering the abuse of a now ex-boyfriend. I loved the conflict between Miranda and Dax. Their attraction makes it all the hotter when Miranda suffers the consequences.
