Shane was pimped out by her mother from the age of 8 in exchange for drugs. When she was finally pulled away, she was placed in a foster home that did the same thing. Laura and her team came in and rescued Shane and the other kids that were in the home. Laura is still very protective of her even now that she is a senior in college.
Patrick in a football player who is great at the team but not so good at his studies. Shane is asked to tutor him. She wants to say no because she prefers to be alone but decides to help him. As they spend time together, their relationship grows. Also, she becomes the target of the one girl who wants Patrick for herself. After spending the weekend together, they sneak off to Vegas and get married. This really sets Cynthia off. Patrick is called away on a family emergency and Cynthia takes this as her chance to get rid of her competition. She disappears after confronting Cynthia. Now the Seals and Laura's team have showed up to find her.

Shane Graves does not like being the center of attention, enrolled in San Diego University she has been successful at staying of everyone's radar well until her Professor asks her to help Pattrick 'Flash' Jones.
Pattrick has a dream that most do not understand, he might be a football star but all he wants to do is to follow in his Fathers footsteps.
Instant combustion when Shane and Pattrick meet, and a small adventure follows them, it was also great to see old familiar characters with the new ones

A series about strong Alpha males and the amazing women they love, this novella is a quick, stands-alone-ok read. Shane is at San Diego University, and is a little bit of a strange duck, until we find out why. She is quiet, studies all the time, and doesn't trust easily. She is tough, though. Pattrick is outgoing, strong, a football ⭐️ and destined for the Navy SEALs like his father. This is a dramatic/romantic storyline that deals with difficult issues, such as child sexual abuse, sex trafficking, and bullying.

I did enjoy this read, however, the story seemed a bit rushed and formulaic. There are lots of characters who are interesting, probably from other novellas in this series. I believe it is an important story to tell, so a 3.5 rating is appropriate.

Not my favorite of the novellas but the redeeming value in this one is the ever-present Deltas and the Alpha Squad both of whom we’ve come to love in the Special Forces series. Both Pattrick and Shane are well-crafted characters with sound core values and maturity. The action and plot lines are neatly choreographed and the story is a grabber — especially with Shane’s background and the high relevancy of the topic.

This book was such a great story and I found myself laughing out loud and felt the emotional parts and loved seeing all the teams together but most of all I love that there is such a thing as true love and soul mates and they can over come the evil in the world. I wish these books with pratt and her family and team will be come a series.

I had my misgivings about this book, knowing a SEAL wasn't in college and the heroine seemed kinda young. However, the storyline and characters were great! Loved knowing there are other books on the horizon. Ms. Michaels still needs a good editor: missing words, repeated words, homonym errors and grammatical errors.
