Have you missed Shawn and Gus as much as I have?

This is my favorite show of all time! I was so excited to see the characters on the screen again. I have missed Shawn and Gus more than I had realized. My teenage niece even watched with me and now she is hooked on Psych as well. The humor and the pop culture references are perfectly timed as always. If you love light, intelligent humor and mystery, you will love this show! Luckily, all seasons have been released on Amazon Prime video so you can watch from the beginning and experience the laughs again and again. I hope they will make another movie soon.

(Also, some reviews complained that the characters had aged or gained weight so they were not as attractive. Well, news flash--people age when time passes. I personally find the characters just as endearing and attractive as they always were. The intelligence of their humor and the impeccable comedic timing of James Roday and Dule Hill are a large part of what makes them attractive anyway. Humor and intelligence are much more attractive than being super skinny, fake, or wrinkle-free! So, give me a hilarious, intelligent, chubby James Roday anyday! I will gladly take him!)

Psych Perfection
Verified purchase
This is the most perfect Psych anything ever. Full of great pop culture references; 80's nostalgia; the best bromance story ever told: their on screen chemistry is even stronger than before; great guest stars: some of the best (missing only Despero); and is a better ending to the Psych story that helps fill SOME of the hole that has been left in my heart since the show ended in 2017. If you are not a psych-o, you should be. I can watch this thousands of times (already over 20x watched as of today ha ha) and never feel the sadness I felt when watching the last episode on that dark day in 2014. If this is REALLY the end to Psych.....it is the ending that the show, characters, writers, and mostly the Psych-Os deserve. Best Movie/TV Show that Psych has ever produced. Thank you Steve Franks, James Roday, Dule Hill, Timothy Omundson, Maggie Lawson, Corbin Bernsen and Kirsten Nelson plus so many more for bringing us one of our most joyous, memorable, and favorite family traditions we will ever have. Thank you for becoming family to us and for bringing us together every week for 8 years. Thank you for bringing so much laughter and joy to our home for so many years. And finally, thank you for bringing us together for one last amazing show....

Big fans of Psych. Love the characters. We especially love how the characters grew and developed over the years yet remained faithful to their original essence and personality types (except for Shawn's dad - didn't like the changes in his character in this movie - just didn't feel like the same guy). This movie, however, was a bit of a disappointment. It had a few laughs (emphasis on few) and really not a fan of the frequent sexual-innuendos - a sign of poor writing in my view. Cheap laughs in place of smart humor. Plot was boring and predictable without the twists that we love in the episodes. Heavy on the "tough, dominating women" while the men looked weak and ridiculous most of the time. Definitely missed Lassiter but certainly understand his absence - the phone scene with Jules was sweet. The end was the "cheesy-icing" on the cake and the long awaited wedding a true disappointment - rushed and anticlimactic. We gave it three stars out of respect for the episodes we still love to watch. Hoping the next movie sticks with the personalities and plot formulas that made it a favorite in the first place. Keep it family friendly and stick to the smart yet silly banter we've come to expect and love.

THEY'RE BACK after 3 years. This movie is an excellent return to our favorite psychic detective agency and friends. Most of your favorite running jokes return and many of your favorite guests. If you're like me, you'll wish they had brought back more past guests, but honestly they can't fit everyone into one movie, so we'll eagerly await future movies! The chemistry between Shawn and Gus is as strong as ever without any change over the past few years. The chemistry between Shawn and Juliet has unfortunately taken a little bit of a hit, and Lassiter is very sorely missed (Timothy Omundson suffered a stroke shortly before filming, so his role was sadly reduced. Wishing him a strong recovery!). Another minor complaint of mine is that it is supposed to be a Christmas or Holiday movie (it even starts with Little Drummer Boy), but it's really not a Christmas movie at all, which kind of bums me out since I always loved their Christmas-themed episodes. Even so, the movie is really strong and is absolutely a welcome return and a complete joy to see our favorite TV cast back!

Excellent follow-up to the Psych Series. It gives the Psych-O's a little bit of a fix, but it leaves us wanting much more! Shawn and Gus are in San Francisco with their new psych detective agency, psychphransico. The chemistry is still perfect with the crew: Shawn, Gus, Juliette, Chief Vick, Henry and even Woody....Lassiter makes an appearance and is a part of things even though Timothy Omundson suffered a stroke and was unable to get into the mix as much as usual. Many of the former guest stars show up in cameos, and all the little things that we love about Psych, right down to the pineapple, were on glorious display. If you aren't a fan of the series, you may not see the significance of a lot of it, but the story is still very good and well worth the watch. I saw it on the network first showing, but look forward to watching it several times to pick up a lot of the small details that I always find in a second, third, or fourth viewing.

Here is hoping that Steve Franks' vision of several movies becomes a reality!
