Cute story, worth seeing for a young Olivia de Havilland
Verified purchase
This is a short, crisp caper/romance; it is very light and short, and the tension is minimal. The story centers on "Raffles," played by a young, handsome David Niven. It is mostly worth seeing for a very young Olivia de Havilland, who was in her early 20s at the time--for me, that totally made the viewing worthwhile, because seeing it brought to light how much she grew as an actress over the years. Apparently, William Wyler was an uncredited director; it is not up to the level of most of his other films. Still -- worth watching!

a single caper?

the movie is about an infamous thief, but no real background and only 1 crime in this movie. without a real ending. and there is a hiss in the audio the entire time, leaving me with tinnitus after it was over.
the movie only lightly touches in what is in the description, too short to get into any depth. and that hiss, i am gonna give this version 2 stars. it's maybe 3-3.5 w/o the hiss.
