If you are reading this review you already know that this is the gold standard of ECG texts for many reasons. I won't rehash what many other talented reviewers have written, so if you want details on the content of the book check out some of the other reviews. You may or may not know that the content of this excellent book is updated with each printing to ensure clinical relevancy.
I am writing this review to address one question that I was unable to find an answer to prior to purchasing: will buying this book get you the most current revision of the most current edition (6th)? The answer appears to be yes. I purchased this book new from Amazon directly and received a copy from the December 2016 printing of the 6th Edition (current edition). As far as I know this is the most recent printing. I'm sure the changes are small but it's nice to know you are getting what you pay for when buying new. Photos attached.
I hope this is helpful. As you can see it appears to go through 2-3 printings per year so we are probably due for a new version soon. Whether it will make a different is anyone's guess, I just wanted to make sure my copy would reflect the major 2015 AHA updates and it appears that this does.
The biggest problem is a lack of organization. There are no clear divisions between different rhythms and topics, the book barrels through everything in one continuous, stream of thought chapter.
Different rhythms' rules and characteristics are buried in an ocean of text and long paragraphs. There is a small summary of rhythms in the back of the book but these are poorly done, microscopic, cluttered, and largely unhelpful.
I bought this book because after 4 lectures of EKG's at my school, the only thing I got out of it is that EKG's are cool little zig zags. I didn't know how to diagnose ANY cardiac pathologies from EKG's. So I bought this book to give me a leg up on my competition, or at least be on an even level with the rest of the med students in my class. It helped me a looooooot. This book explains to you like you're an elementary school student. I now understand EKG's much better than before.
The book is ~ 350 pages, but there are diagrams on every page and a few notes to accompany each diagram, so they're not really "full pages." I like this, because if you condense it all into a regular book without diagrams, it's really only like 100 pages of reading. I understood EKG's after devoting one day of a weekend toward studying it. This book is AWESOME, really explains things well!!!!

I found it to be such an oversimplification of ECG interpretation that it is almost useless. Perhaps will give someone a very superficial grasp of ECGs but nothing more. Better to start with Garcia in my opinion.
The books was sheathed in a polythene protective wrap, with a thoughtful paper wrapping over it and shipped in a sturdy mailer.
Received the book in 'as on shelf' condition.
On a cursory look, the book seems to be an excellent buy...one can sit back with a pencil and a high lighter and work through the book in a work book fashion, slowly,as to understand the concepts behind ECG tracings/interpretation.
I hope I can buy more books from Harran Books...I really enjoyed their service which included a personal message handwritten on the bill.
