I'm here to take up the good fight Rebel style. I just purchased the season to put my money where my mouth is, despite having the series saved on DVR. This is a stellar show that I hope another network will pick up.
Rebel has so many merits: a strong female lead and sidekick investigator, a voice for the downtrodden, and strategy tidbits to empower the voiceless meek into fighting underdogs. It’s a show that isn't just another "reality" show, game show, cop or hospital drama. She laughs, she cries, she thinks on her feet (even in the wrong shoes) and outside the box. She gives her all to right wrongs while tiptoeing on the legal line and makes us laugh. The main story line is so deep in plot twists and turns now, it was unfairly canceled far too soon. It's well paced, boasts a superb cast, and excellent writing that's developed from a slightly cheesy start to gripping. I'm rather invested in the characters at this point and look forward to potential story lines in place to develop in a 2nd season.
Which network will stand up and show some love and respect to older women and encourage the meek of any age to become strong women? To recognize that the boomer 50+ demographic wants more than Law and Order, talent shows, and the Game Show Network? We ARE relevant! If I knew how to organize a crowd fund to drop a sea of red balloons on all network door steps to fight for it I would, and even signed the saverebel petition. It's that good.
