The author has really done a wonderful job of finding a way to reach young teen men, specially, young people, in general. That push n pull of family ties and budding love is balanced by the underlying coming of age story line. I was really impressed by the book and my son, couldn't wait to see if there were more books in the series.
The writing is phenomenal, but the characters are even better. I love every, single one..yes, Charlie/Chuck, mom, CJ are all amazing, but the grandparents stole the show for me. Granddad is sassy and sweet and tender and tough.
You’ll love it.
No adults made us write this. We think you should read this book because it is good. Kwame Alexander wrote this book as a poem, and it made us want to read more. Kwame Alexander is a best-selling author and winner of the Newbery award, and we know why! Rebound is about basketball and life. We are a 6th grade boys' book group, but we know that girls will like this book too!
