Reckless: Highland Bride, Book 3 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged
Heir to the clan MacFarlane, Ailis was a prize to be bartered by her calculating father, and her wedding to a man she despised seemed inevitable - until she is abducted by her clan's worst enemy, Alexander MaDubh, a brutally handsome laird with ice in his eyes and hot blood in his veins.
Alexander had come riding into Leargan to claim the three children born of a forbidden love between his brother and lovely Ailis' sister. Now, with Ailis herself as his pawn, he can strike at the enemy whose treachery robbed his clan of so much. Her beauty and her fierce temper stir his blood, and vengeance has never been so sinfully sweet. But will a passion they cannot deny be enough to ease the pain and torment of the past?

but if you don't have my judgemental acquaintances then by all means enjoy this book for the most part I did....🙏
Was in the previous books, I really despised him for the way he treated the sweet heroine, but she frustrated me because of her stupidity and weakness for putting up with his horrible abuse, which is why I rated it a three instead of a five. I liked the heroine, but her dumb decisions really frustrated me. However, the plot was very good, but the story was just ok.
However, I would recommend this read!
As far as the slapping scene that other people have referred to in previous reviews, that is the way the Scots handled their woman in those days. They were brutal but that's how it was back then. I think that scene is followed by a really cute one when Ailis's neice rallies to her defense with one of the cutest scened.
You can't go wrong with a Hannah Howell book. The only problem is that she doesn't write too many of them anymore so her real fans have to go back and constantly re-read them.
Alex MacDuhl when he finds out about it comes for the children and holds her for ransom. Alex has no trust in women because his ex wife and step mother betrayed him . His child died because of one of them.
You really should read this book it has so much going on .Alex and Allis will have a happy ending read for yourself to see how they get to that point.
