Captain David Alexander commands an Explorer Class Starship known as the SS Evangeline. Their Commonwealth assigned mission is to locate and identify a new enemy encroaching on Commonwealth territory before it’s too late. Their new enemy has unidentifiable technology that turns people against their own government. No methods of persuasion have proven effective in restoring the enemy conscripts. The Supreme Executor of the Commonwealth, Luciano Hale, has authorized extreme sanctions. He wants the Liontari forces stopped, at all costs.
The Captain and crew are new to the mission, new to their jobs and new to each other. Most have been married for only a few months. Tensions are high as the crew spends the first three weeks aboard ship traveling to a distant corner of the galaxy to begin their mission. David knows first contact missions are risky and the discovery of such a powerful enemy increases the danger exponentially, at least that’s what he’s been told. The real experience proves to be quite unsettling. The crew faces primitive natives with superstitious beliefs, crude dangerous lifestyles, assaults, tests of skill and honor, violent weather and their own mortality. Can they survive such overwhelming odds?
“The Defender: The Mission” is the first in an exciting Sci-Fi Space Opera. Reggi Broach packs the mission full of action, adventure, and even a few tears and laughter.
Join the crew of the Evangeline and explore the Commonwealth galaxy… if you dare.
Forward and "An Oath's Other Edge" a Shijuren universe short story by guest author, Rob Howell.
Here you will find a variety of genres from science fiction to horror, to fantasy and many dimensions in between. The stories found here all begin with scribbling on the corner of a napkin. The rest is left to the imagination. Who knows what could happen or what dangers lurk at the end of the journey? It all starts with the simplest of paper that takes each character on a journey to change for the better (or worse) than how they started, by honoring the scribbling on a napkin.

The one thing stopping him is Pateras El Liontari. The power of Pateras may stop him from killing Captain Alexander, but if the captain kills himself…
Can Captain Alexander survive being betrayed, imprisoned, tortured and humiliated? In his darkest moments, in pain and surrounded by the evil associates of Executor Hale, his betrayer offers him a way out, a lethal way out.
In Evil’s Grasp is volume four of a trilogy gone long. The Commonwealth sent twelve ships out into the galaxy to track down the presence of an enemy known as the “Timeless One.” The ships were on a two-fold diplomatic and surveillance mission to non-spacefaring worlds to track the movements of this unknown enemy. The Evangeline found the enemy’s apparent home world on it’s first stop. The people of Galat III were primitive but intelligent and charitable. The son of Pateras El Liontari was born on the backward world. As any good Commonwealth soldiers would do, they reported the enemy’s presence then evacuated to search out other enemy strongholds. The problems began to occur when the son of their enemy, Arni Liontari, began stalking the crew. He followed them to every world they visited. His attacks were nothing like they expected. The crew, one by one, fell away from the Commonwealth and joined forces with Arni Liontari, all except one.
Chief Petty Officer Jacob Holden tried to protect the crew from the assaults of the Commonwealth’s most formidable foe. He challenged his captain at every turn in an attempt to protect him and the crew. When all his efforts fail, Jake has only one recourse. His captain and crew have to be arrested and retrained.
