A female coach takes over the cross country team at an all girls' Christian school and attempts to lead them to their first state title. As the runners train, the top 5 girls all deal with particular issues relevant to teen life. As these stories unfold, so does the wisdom of the coach as she guides the girls along the pathway of life. A follow up film, "The Perfect Race", was released in 2019.

A Must See!! Perfect Family Movie
Verified purchase
Wow wow wow, this was a excellent movie, we LOVED it, as a family we actually started to watch this one time before and turned it off not to far into the beginning because we completely misjudged it. Recently we were recommended this movie and thought we would give it a 2nd chance, there are a lot of movies that claim to be "Christian" or "family movies" that really are not, whoever said a movie needs to be worldly in order to captivate the audience or to be "so called" relevant. "At first", we thought this was about a young high school crush, it turned out to be anything but and not only that, its was completely different than we expected, it kept us engaged, had an awesome message and the Lord was all through out it great movie to watch with your kids, we were very blessed. There is a demand for clean wholesome family movies we would love to see more like this.

Remember The Goal

We rarely see true Christlike values well portrayed in media today. However, this movie, while the actors were not known, or as professional as Hollywood, are certainly a refreshing exception!! The settings were believable, and circumstances of each young girl portrayed, make this a great Tween to Teen movie.
My husband and I highly recommend this movie, with one suggestion.....TAKE TIME TO TALK after the movie about why these values are important character building tracts.
Pop some Popcorn, and grab a Box of Tissue! In our summation, 'Remember the Goal', DESERVES 6 Stars for the quality, and level of integrity in scripting this movie!

Not a cheesy movie!
Verified purchase
Before it started, my teen daughter asked, "Is this a cheesy movie with a message?" We both agreed that (1) not cheesy (2) the acting was surprisingly believable! (3) biblical truths came across without being preachy or awkward and (4) it was interesting! Neither of us are runners, but it didn't bore us. The issues that each of the girls dealt with (as alluded to in the description) are very normal issues. There was nothing in this movie that was melodramatic or hokey. I am really glad we watched it and am considering buying it for the family.

Acting was impressive
Verified purchase
I was impressed by the acting, especially since most of these girls are newcomers to film as well as running. I admire the hard work they put in, filming all those running scenes in the middle of the summer in intense heat. Those girls are troopers! Allee Sutton Hethcoat did an exceptionally good job as the girls’ coach

I know practically nothing about cross country running, but enjoyed watching the training. Afterwards we were talking about the coach’s unique approach to winning and how we could relate to that, This morning I woke up thinking about the whole Remember the Goal concept and applying it to my day. I suspect that it will stick with me and I’ll be applying it to different situations in the future.

Remembering the Goal is the best movie I have seen ever in a long time
Verified purchase
I loved the main character of the coach and how she is solid in her faith, cares for those around her, her team, the parents and most of all honoring the Lord with her life. YOu have to watch the movie to see the gems of wisdom and example of grace she portrays as she deals with each unknown thrown at her. She knows how to win the State Championship Cross Country Meet, and for this Chrisitan school for girls, it is a lesson the athletes will never forget. I highly recommend it. I use it for my own motivation and inspiration movie, as a mom and grandmother, to keep my eyes on the goal and not give up. I am very thankful for this movie!!!

Stick with it--SO worth the watch! It had me in happy tears by the end...
Verified purchase
The premise of the plot here is simple, and the story unfolds gently...but don't let that fool you. Stick with it--SO worth the watch, and by the end it literally had me in happy tears like few movies have been able to accomplish. Most of the performances were excellent also (and you can tell that the cast trained well to portray the athletic roles with authenticity)! Indie films like this are an encouragement that wholesome entertainment is out there, and stories like this remind me why I ultimately enjoy character-driven dramas over explosions and eyecandy. Don't get me wrong! Action-adventure flicks can be a fun distraction. But heartfelt stories like this one are the ones that will stick with you and inspire you to keep going when the going gets hard. It's like electrolytes for the soul! :)

Good Message
Verified purchase
I really like the message in the movie. This is a good movie to watch with the family or with a youth group. I do not consider this to be one of the best movies the creators of it have made. It has a good ending but could have been developed more. I do recommend the movie and it is worth the money. The creators of this movie have made some five star movies like Time Changer, Secrets of Jonathan Sperry and Amazing Love. This movie doesn't measure up to that but is worth $12 or so and is good to stimulate some discussion within the family or a youth group.

Very thoughtfully directed and acted, great message!
Verified purchase
The acting in this movie is better than most Christian movies. Also, it has a very good message and some very good information about running the race. I had previously downloaded some commentary verses about 1 Cor. 9:24-27, from the Expositor's Bible Commentary that is available on the free Bible software E-Sword (can't get to it via Google for some reason). This commentary write up is wonderful and it goes very well with this movie.
If I were a Bible teacher of adolescent youth, I would write a program for an 8 week group on the two of these resources.
I have watched the movie several times on Amazon Prime, free, but bought a copy for future use.
