Pointless

I don't even know what to write. It was chaotic and pointless. Brenda Blethyn's role was almost non-existent. Based on reviews I was expecting more. Disappointing.

Robert Lyndsay does a great job of appearing likable, smarmy & shady

Robert Lyndsay is really the star of this. He plays the ne'er do well - who arrives unannounced. Mr Lyndsay does a great job of appearing both likable, smarmy & shady all at the same time. Rik Mayall plays the henpecked, unhappy husband to Imelda Staunton's equally unhappy wife. The movie takes a bit too long to come to the boil - a slow burn. But the final scenes are worth the wait.

Very funny movie. I'd give it five stars but the music in the sound track is really bad.

British Classic! I only purchased because of the late great Rik Mayall and it was worth it! Doesn't make a difference what role he plays he always steals the show
