Don’t leave your notes in the heat!

Great eraseable pens with tons of colors. The ink is heat sensitive so be careful with leaving notes in a hot car or copying notes in a copy machine. The only way to bing them back is to put your note in the freezer for 10 seconds

So I loved these pens when I first got them. Yes this is the second time I purchased these because I love them so much and I was running low . HOWEVER, now when I ordered them... the pens looked different than the first time I got them... for instance the new ones has like Chinese writing on the back when they old pens don’t... and the new ones with the Chinese writing are so low ink it’s insane.. i will post some pictures so you guys can see... i ended up returning them.. wasn’t worth the money for me. The top pen is the old ones when the bottom is how they all write now.. you can see the ink is very low and very bad .

I love these pens! I'm in nursing school and i like to take colorful notes to help identify key terms/ concepts, but i can't stand "messy" notes where i have to cross things out. These are perfect because they allow me to erase and re-write while keeping my notes neat. I find that the ink erases much cleaner if i give it a few seconds to dry before erasing. Just don't leave your writing in a hot car, or you'll come back to faded/ blank pages!

Edit - several colors now barely last a few pages before drying up (others are longer so I know it's a quality control issue).

Doubt there are any alternatives but a) the colors aren't as pretty as the barrels (ie the green is dark pine green ink) b) barely last - I wrote 6 pages maybe with the blue and it's now empty and c) they never write when you first put them down on a Rocketbook page - have to scribble to get them going, you can't write fast, or draw lines or they skip. Just a miserable writing experience. Can't understand why everyone likes these. Slightly better on paper and they do seem to erase. Mostly just angry at the short ink use.

Great pens and here's the greatest way to erase their ink

The media could not be loaded.

They come with "erasers" so you can make the ink disappear. There's even some special notebooks here you can wipe away the ink with a little water.

HOWEVER, I've discovered that a small heat gun, I use the something called the 6.56FT Long Heat Gun erases FriXion ink in seconds with no muss, fuss, or damp pages. This one costs about $10, is compact, works well for this and other heatgun-related tasks, and has a pretty funny sticker that I highlight in my video review of it.

For me it's opened all kinds of doors for ways to use pens that lay down colorful ink that can be made to disappear almost immediately (while other writing made with non-FriXion ink remains).

So I'm pretty much a pen & marker connoisseur, I have so many sets of pens I don't even know what to do with them all! What happens is I buy a new one & I really like it but I end up using my favorite again. Well guess what! I found my new favorite & I haven't stopped writing with them since I opened the package & did a pen test! These are absolutely amazing, how they write, the colors, the fact that they completely erase like it says, they are top notch & anyone looking for a set of pens that they will like... Look no further! These are them :)

amazing and disappointing

At first I really loved these pens. Erasable gel ink -- this is amazing. My biggest issue is that so far of these 7 in the package 1 was not usable when it arrived. On 3 of the pens the ink dried over the writing tip and became unusable. Ink pens full of ink and unusable = trash. I tried so many things to include using the eraser tip of another pen to help loosen the ball. I still love the remaining ones. But will really consider before I buy again.

Can't live without these pens

I own several sets of these pens. They're great for the kid's homework and adds color (some of us get bored with pencil). I also use it for genealogy charts because it's easy to correct if a mistake is made or a change needs to be made.
Be aware that the inks can disappear if put into the sun or heat. Fun fact: you can put the paper back into the freezer and your ink will show up again although not as dark. I like the .5 for smaller writing, like in an appointment book and the .7 for everything else.
I'm giving a set away as a gift.

I am a bit OCD when it comes to my daily planner. Managing marketing for 9 separate businesses, plus running a household and homeschooling a 2nd grader...AHH! Up until mid-March I'd been using a pencil, simply because things change and I *must* be able to erase.

I've included a photo of my planner before & after switching to these FriXion pens, and OH MY GOODNESS the difference it's made in my organization!! I can quickly leaf through the pages to see which projects I was working on for which business based on color, as well as identify appointments (orange), to-do items (red), and more.

The pens truly do erase completely. I wanted to try to write a "secret message" in my creative journal (see second photo) - so I wrote my message and "erased" it using my hair dryer. The ink did fade - mostly. Not enough for a true secret message, though. The photo included was taken after letting the journal rest in the freezer for several hours. It's legible, so I would expect that all is not lost if you accidentally leave your notebook in the hot car or in the sun. It won't be as easy to read, but at least it's not gone forever!

MY ONLY GRIPE: There is no way to determine (that I've found) how much ink is left in the pen. They are completely sealed shut and the barrel is opaque. As stated, I'm very strict about my color coordination and would be absolutely distraught to run out of a must-have color. My original set is still going strong after 4 months of daily use, but I ordered a second so that I have back-ups on hand.
