In this book we get to visit the Brink to see Reagan's super secret training island, travel the Realm to visit the Warrior Fae and meet the Elves, and an insightful peek into Lucifer's underworld.
When I say the gang is together I truly mean every single character we’ve loved (and hated) is in this book!! Reagan is in top form, funny, feisty, and fighting. Darius is dreamy and uber protective. Cahal the Druid is a freaking rockstar and I’m so glad we got to learn more of his story. Penny continues to amaze us with her ability to make up swear words. Emery just loves and supports her, and he definitely cracks me up. Karen and the Red Prophet meet, now that’s a team I would NOT bet against. Red is hilariously crazy and should not be left alone, especially with Reagan's neighbors! No Good Mikey may never recover LMAO. Callie and Dizzy are quite the troopers, and are going strong. Vlad is still playing the roll of Creepy Stalker #1. There are demons everywhere. Charity and her dad get it done! Romulus needs to see to believe but once he does he’s all in. Reagan is at her finest when in the Flush, I’ve never laughed so hard. The Warrior Fae are BACK! Devon and his expanded pack are there, backing up Charity and kickin' butt furry style. Roger, whom I love, finally picks a side. We meet the Elf Royalty, and as you can guess it went really well LOL. Ja makes a quick but important appearance. And last but not least we get a peek into Lucifer's head. We now know who Reagan got her attitude from!
We get POVs from multiple characters which is awesomesauce! Because of that we got to experience what was going on throughout, there were no blanks to be filled in later, we saw it all firsthand. I was never confused as to who's POV it was. They all definitely have distinct ways of thinking and speaking!
I cannot stress enough that you need to read these books! You get laugh out loud humor and all the feels. It’s a modern take on an epic fantasy series. They are so well written, I get completely immersed in the world KF Breene has brought to life. Each book is a needed escape from reality. It is, hands down, my favorite series.
Everything I love about the Fire and Ice books seemed to be compounded and then exploded out from the pages in Revealed in Fire. Demons are surfacing and Reagan and her merry crew are given premonitions of what's to come. With the opening chapter having the message, 'The Great Master requests an audience with his heir. Summon her.', you know big things are coming. Massive things. Huge. All the things that fans of this series have been chomping at the bit to get their greedy little hands on. With the Red Prophet and Karen (Penny's mum and the queen of all Karens) foreseeing the need for Reagan, Penny, Emery, Darius, the fae (including Charity and her dad) and the Shifters (including Roger and Devon) to travel back to the Flush to sort out the issues with the fae and their reclaiming of their mantle of protectors and enforcers of the Realm, Regan's destiny is starting to play out and the pieces leading to the big battle are moving. Reagan has been in hiding with Darius and training with Cahal, the druid, in preparation for the hard slog coming their way in the near future. Add to this the visit to the Flush and the inevitable meeting/confrontation with the elves and I wanted to throw my Kindle at the wall when the book eventually finished. Okay, I don't mean that because I love my Kindle as much as a human baby but I didn't want the book to end and it may have made me a tad dramatic.
There was so much to love about this book if you're a fan of the series and to be honest, I was fangirling pretty much for the whole of the ride. There's the snark, humour and outlandish antics from Reagan that not many authors would be able to successfully pull off in one of their lead characters. She continued to be a baffling mixture of obnoxious and endearing and there was even a touch of softness to her in this installment, dare I say it. The relationship between her and Darius is now firmly established and I loved how this book built on that and cemented their dedication to each other. Mainly I just loved having the opportunity to drool over Darius again who is one of my favourite book boyfriends. While he wasn't in the book quite as much as I liked (and to be fair to the author, she could put him on every page and it still wouldn't be enough), he was dynamite when he was, continuing to be loving, supportive and completely dedicated to Reagan while also being ruthless and cunning.
All the other key characters from this series make an appearance with a couple of chapters from the other characters' points of view as well, which added a difference perspective and meant fans got to catch up with some of their other favourites. Charity is now firmly in the leadership circle of her people and supported by the Shifters. Speaking of Shifters, Roger inserts himself more fully into the story in this book and I loved it. He played a great role in the overall story arc and his actual character was a delight to read. Penny and Emery were present and once again I was reminded of one of the things I love about this series and this author: the women supporting each other. There's no nastiness or other women drama. Just chicks kicking butt and loving it. There were some great moments in this book between Penny and Reagan, many of them really funny, but moving as well. Cahal played a much bigger part as well and he was a stand out. I loved him and what he added to the story. Look, to be honest and at the risk of sounding ridiculous, the author knocked it out of the park with all of the characters, even the bad guys (I'm looking at you, Vlad, as well as the elves who we finally get to see up and personal). Oh, and Steve is back with his massive dong. Too good.
As per usual in these books, there was heaps of laugh out loud and feel good moments for me, both in Reagan's actions and propensity for mayhem and in the dialogue. The dry humour hits all the right spots for me. As Reagan not only mastered her own magic but revealed it to others, there was a really decent amount of action throughout the books, whether it was her instigating shenanigans or literally fighting for her life. It led to so many moments where I was mentally pumping my fist in the air and I was completely hooked from start to finish. Reagan presenting herself to the castle was pure gold. I'm still thinking about it, a surefire way to tell that the author killed it, literally and figuratively. The description of the fighting scenes throughout the book and the culmination of Reagan's magic was perfection.
For big nerds of the series, you finally get to read more about Reagan's background and learn about her mum. As a massive fan, this was such a 'we finally made it to here' moment. Lucifer pops up and I'm not going to lie, these were some of my favourite moments in the book. Soooo satisfying. A couple of things I thought wouldn't happen until the next book popped out here and surprised me, including the point of view in a chapter or two from the Master of the Underworld himself. I have next to nothing to say that's negative about this book. The only thing I can think of, and I'm clutching at straws, is that a few sections were from Charity or Penny's point of view. They definitely gave a much appreciated perspective on the story line, but I'm hooked on this story because of Reagan. I just want her for allllll the things.
So at the risk of sounding repetitive, I loved this book so hard. Reagan finally owning who she is and wearing it like a mantle for the world to see was what I've been waiting for and it absolutely didn't disappoint. The end of this month can't come quickly enough. I need more of the good stuff because this author's work is like crack for me and Revealed in Fire left my heart singing as I finally got to catch up with characters that feel like old friends. I hate being one of those reviewers that write gushy crap about how good a book was, but this one is making me go there - if I could give it more stars, I would. It was brilliant. Did I mention it was brilliant?
This outing, leading up to the final books in the series, has Reagan's heritage as the worst kept secret. And as the woman the magical world has barely tolerated her entire life, finding herself the object of everyone's desire is not something Reagan handles well. At all.
Everything that happens in this book leads to the cliffhanger ending. To say more gives all the details away. You don't want to miss those details. They reveal more of Reagan as a person not just the blunt instrument she likes to portrait herself. There are laugh out loud, hold your sides, moments. There are crazy Penny swears. There is fun, and there are touchy feely moments that Reagan would swear never happened. They did. It's the misfit, tag-a-long crew we all love, at their best.
So this outing, this reunion, it's good. It's real good. The next is out in 3 weeks, so you don't have to wait long. This is Queen Breene at her best, rounding up all the gang and usual - and unusual - subjects.

Revealed in Fire (Demon Days, Vampire Nights: World Book #9)
It was such a pleasant feeling dropping back into Reagan, Penny & Charity's world. It was like meeting up with old friends, in your front room, with slouchie, comfy clothes on then watching a high octane action adventure film filled with love, laughs, scares & a few crazy characters you can't help but love.😍💥
Reagan has actually grown so much since book #1, she's still an @hole but she's one with love & friendship in her life now. She's also tempered her impatience, a little, for them.💞 Penny's swearing got stranger, I didn't think that was possible but there you go.😂 Charity is gradually growing into her new role as the Third. Fighting with Devon & his pack is even more beautifully fluid and natural to her.👍
Lucifer sends an invitation for his heir via Demons, he also asks the Elves what they know of her!😳 Reagan now has two huge targets on her back. Who will become her allies & who will be her enemies?? The Mages, Shifters, Vampire's, Demons & Fae have decisions to face, as do all the free supernaturals in the Brink & the Realm. A War IS coming, who's side will they pick?👀💥
Wow, this was such a brilliant read. Damn, that ending was such an unexpected killer. I feel like a Marlin stuck on Breene's hook!↪🐬 A masterpiece of the Queens work!🌟

Meanwhile, demons have been summoned all over the Brink, some low level, but some incredibly high level. And yet the high level demons only seem to be there to assess and only fight back when attacked. Eventually the message gets passed on that Reagan has been summoned by daddy dearest. Except he still doesn’t quite know who she is.
Aahhhhhh I missed these characters! Reagan is snarky and bullheaded as ever, Penny is unintentionally hilarious, Charity seems to be the only truly level-headed one of the girls, the boys are all still swoon-worthy and EVERYONE is a bad*ss in their own right.
Moving straight on to book 10 now as it finished on a cliffhanger!
Seeing 3 powerful, strong, independent, intelligent kickbutt women come together was amazing.
I love the relationships in each of groups but it's a recipe for yummy adventure when they come together like in this book. The fireworks are hilarious.
K.F.Breene has a unique way of making quirky characters come to life and make the reader truly emotionally invest in the journey.
I was on the edge of my seat the whole way, cheering on the crazy ladies at every step, twist and turn.
Personally I love how I can't predict where the story is going to go, how each character can surprise me with their choices, that goes for all of them.
Can't wait to see what the plan is with daddy dearest, Ja and each of the gang.
But more than anything roll on the final battle xx
Thank you again for captivating, entertaining and hooking me!
But you do need to read the other books.
A. Because they’re amazing. B. Because things generally make more sense. C. You’ll be happy realising you have so many fantastic books to read.
P.S. Make sure someone else reads these books at the same time as you so you can gush about it and it actually makes sense.
But seriously read it, you won’t regret it.
All I will say is the Elves better stand well back!
If you haven’t already read this series - What are you waiting for Go out and get Born in Fire but cancel anything you have planned for the next few days as you will get hooked into Reagan’s world.
Reagan rocks and Penny’s rocks roll!
