Little Known But Very Good Film

Josie (Halle Berry) is unhappy in her marriage to wealthy film producer Tony Potenza (Christopher McDonald), who tends to be preoccupied with work, drinking or other women. Though Josie also cheats on Tony, she holds out hope that they can reconcile. When she meets the rugged but dangerous Cole Wilson (Peter Greene), he sets in motion a tense series of events, leading to murder and deception. Also roped into the intrigue is Josie's lover, Jake Golden (Clive Owen), who is far from innocent.
Great Cast and Well Acted engaging Story !

I wanted to like it in spite of reading negative reviews.

I like Halle Berry and thrillers, so I wanted to like this film. I read mostly negative reviews about this film before renting it. Yet, I wanted to see the film for myself. I was hoping to like it, but it's barely mediocre. There aren't a whole lot of characters, and I lost interest in them and the film rapidly after the birthday party for Halle's husband. Cable TV's Lifetime channel makes better thrillers. For more interesting Halle thrillers see "Perfect Strangers" and "The Call".

Very interesting movie

I saw this movie years ago. It was when Halle Berry first started making her appearances as a new and upcoming actress. I liked the movie then, and I like it now. I was somewhat shocked that I found it on Amazon, so I decided to purchase it and add it to my collection of my favorite movies.

The movie is filled with suspense, thriller, blackmail and mystery. An unhappy wife who makes the mistake of befriending and telling a complete stranger she wishes her husband were dead, only to live the reality of her wish with regrets.

I haven't seen a Halle Berry movie yet I have been disappointed in. She's an outstanding actress who can adapt to any role she is given.
