It is NOT Top Gear! However, it is a good series that gives a legit glimpse into the complexities and dangers of many occupations. Richard Hammond is a great story teller, and his misadventures in learning these new trades is quite entertaining. Bonus is that it is age appropriate for children ( my son is 10 and he enjoys the series ).

Hammond at his Best.

If you are a fan of Richard Hammond you will love this. If you don't know him from Top Gear already, well he's a plucky Brit who seems to love us yanks and our cars. And is fascinated by all things American. The show is alote of fun and entertaining.

I'm a HUGE Top Gear fan (the former Clarkson, Hammond, & May)! This is a great show that's informative and entertaining at the same time. I recommend starting with season 1, episode 1 and watch it on order.

Quite a drop off after Season 1

Season 2 has some good moments, but it isn't nearly as good as season 1. This is worth a watch if you are a fan of Richard Hammond. If you are thinking of watching this because you like Top Gear or The Grand Tour, you will probably be disappointed in this show. Season 1 is, however, worth the watch. I enjoyed season 1 quite a bit.

What a fun show. Its like a cross between Dirty Jobs and SNL. It amazes me how warmly Richard is received, everyone loves that guy. for a star, he is pretty humble. The scene where he gets to shoot a gun is so funny

even better than season 1, different feel to it too

I liked season 1 of Crash Course. I like season 2 better. Again, Richard Hammond's enthusiasm and self-depreciating humor as the host makes learning about these jobs fun. In addition, he's having a blast doing them. He doesn't make the whole thing come across as contrived like so many of our US-made TV shows do these days. There is editing, sure, but you feel like you are getting a real view of what it's like for a normal person to learn to do these things; complete with all the nervousness, excitement, uncertainty and laughter that comes with trying unusual tasks. The sense of fun is genuine, you watch and laugh with the guy.

Again, I'd put these shows in the same category as Dirty Jobs, or Mythbusters. So if you enjoy those, you will likely enjoy Crash Course season 2 as well.

Not quite as good as season 1 which was focused on operating different vehicles.

Almost seems like a dirty jobs knockoff

We are fans of Richard Hammond from the ill-fated Top Gear, and it's fun seeing him try all kinds of new and scary vocations. Especially enjoyed his cowboy and snake wrangling attempts.
