At first, I was concerned that the loss of Patrick Rothfuss would really harm the story but Jim Zub has done a great job of picking up where the pair left off last time. Lie the first the book captures what is great about Rick and Morty and doesn't feel at all out of place with their names on the cover. This would work perfectly as an episode of the show which is great praise for the author.
While the first book focused on DnD fundamentals this one takes a look at what happens to those characters that you let fall by the wayside. This gave the story a little more heart than the previous one and also was a brilliant showcase of Rick before he became the all-powerful scientist, which is always fun to see.
They end the graphic novel setting themselves up for a third book and I for one would enjoy dipping back into this crazy mashup once again.
The art is great, though.
