This book is best read if you’ve never gone to Europe before; it’ll get you excited about going places that are foreign, yet familiar in some way thanks to America’s melting pot heritage. Rick gives good advice on how to plan, how to edit your plans down to something manageable, and how to be ready to go have fun and roll with the punches that always come with travel.
If you’re looking for detailed advice on a particular place, or if you’re an experienced traveler, this book probably won’t tell you much that you’d be looking for. But if you just want to get excited about going back to Europe, or if you’ve never been, this is a great read.
However, one has to cringe whenever Steeves makes an attempt at political commentary, as he has no clue on which he is speaking of. He hasn't figured out, for instance, how economically damaging taxes are to a society. He even once refers to taxes as "necessary". Far from "necessary" taxation is dangerous and immoral. Perhaps with one more trip to Europe he will learn.?
