Great overview and help in planning

When I first read the reviews about this one of Rick Steve's guidebooks, I was very wary. But they are wrong. This books is as good as his other books. We love Rick Steve's guidebooks, I don't know what I would do without them when first planning a trip, wouldn't know where to start. We are seasoned overseas travellers and go to Europe almost every year but still find his books very good - especially when visiting a country for the first time.

They give you a good oversight and don't overwhelm with places to see and lots of information. Living in America we usually don't have more than 10 or 14 days to spend on a vacation in Europe and Rick's books help you to choose where to go and to make the best out of your limited time.

We always use a second guide book (Rough guides for England and Scotland) for more detailed background information on the places that Rick mentions and the many places that he doesn't mention.

His judgement and recommendation of B&B's and little hotels to stay at are very reliable. Through his listings and follow up internet research we find most of our accomodations.

I highly recommend his books to anyone travelling to a European country, especially if you can only go for a limited time and have never been to that particular country before. If only he also wrote guidebooks on destinations outside of Europe ...!

Happy Travelling!

This is a combination of Mr. Steves' tv traveling programs in Italy. Planning a European trip I felt this was a must in deciding exactly where I wanted to go and what to see. My husband and I want to find some of the lesser known places as well as the well established places to visit on our trip. This is the type of thing Mr. Steves' is best at. This video was very helpful for that purpose.

...you needa this!

I've been to Italy many times but not to every little nook and cranny. Rick will take you there. Nothing better on the market to highlight the "non tourist" areas and routes to get around.

A definate must view before your departure.

Bon Voyage!

Ciao!

Rick Steves does a terrific job. His video "tours" are informed, fast-paced and thoroughly entertaining. Great to have them in high definition, too.
