The Genevians are at war with Nietzschea...and they’re losing.
In a last-ditch hope, the Genevian mech program was founded. Its goal to augment humans into cyborg fighting machines; mechanized warriors sent to hold the front lines against an enemy that was storming a hundred worlds.
Yet few wished to undergo the brutal process, and so criminals were used, their minds enslaved by control chips and obedience enforced through discipline.
The Genevians spent their mechs against the Nietzscheans with little care, eventually struggling to find enough bodies to convert into fighting machines. Quotas were set in the courts, prosecutors, and judges paid off to ensure that even the most benign offenses would see the perpetrator end up in a mech factory, rights and mind stripped as much as body.
Rika is one such victim.
Forged into a second generation scout mech, she is sent to the front lines where she serves with distinction, crushing countless enemies beneath her clawed feet.
But, despite giving everything she had, Genevia still loses the war, and Rika is abandoned.
Now she slings cargo on Dekar, little more than a human loading machine, struggling to keep ahead of the slow breakdown of her mechanized body.
Until someone makes her an offer she cannot refuse. An offer that will see her rejoin the fight - whether she wants to or not. Rika will have to summon a strength she never knew she had to bring about the victory that she once thought was lost.
Get Rika’s Marauders today and follow the ultimate rags-to-riches story, where one woman rises up and saves not only herself, but her people.
This omnibus volume contains all seven books in the Rika’s Marauders series, as well as two novellas: Rika Mechanized and Rika Crucible.

Some entries in SFF force the female lead to be bonded to men in some normative fashion thus enabling an increase in her power (political or otherwise). Yet here we have Rika being the best person she can be - strong, empathetic and willing to take chances, gaining power yet still hewing to her ethical standards.
Yes, there are more battles and societal change that Rika has to navigate (that's a big universe out there) but that's what makes this collection so engrossing.
One spoiler - when the author suggests you take a break and read a few different books set in the same universe - just do it!
For the sake of honesty - I acquired this box set through a giveaway - now I just have to figure out how i can buy the rest set in this universe!
I'm a big fan of Mal's writing, Ione a couple dozen of her novels if I owned one. The characters are enjoyable, the setting is portrayed realistically, it has its own rules and laws and it sticks to them to give you a sense of gravity (heh, gravity in space).
Even if it's not still on sale when you're reading this review, and considering for yourself, I recommend going for it. And if you're a fan of the Aeon 14 Universe, consider grabbing the Intrepid Saga as well.
But after all was said and done I felt zero need to read anything else in the series, even though there are what - 100 books in the various branches? "Oh look - Rika is in danger. Oh look, it's her against 10,000 baddies (seriously....). Oh look, she survived. Oh look, she gained a new skill. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Ever read the old Conan series? How every single book was just a variation on the first few? Same here. Totally predictable with characters you really don't care about.
Plus nobody dies. Some civilian? Sure. A billion baddies? Yep. Rika or any of her mechs? Nope. Never. It gets tiring. Fast.
I LOVE THIS SERIES!!!
I own all separately ...BUT all the books in one? I don’t have to search around in my library for the next and can just continue on binge reading?! YES PLEASE!!
Cannot expresses enough how much i love this series.
Just give it a try, it’s only a dollar = You are so lucky!
Be prepared to not be able to put the book(s) down and miss lots of sleep!

What always gets me with this character and the stories she finds herself in is no matter how much machine you may become the humanity and caring that comes through is unique whilst still being one of the most kickass , take charge hero to exisit in the large Aeon 14 universe.
Honestly having such a great collection all togther may be the undoing of sleep as once you turn that fiest few pages you may never read scifi stories again.
Rika and the other characters have forever changed my outlook of the future and how we retain what makes us human even as circumstances change around us while being the type of person everyone ones to become.
Anyways this feels a little too gushy compared to my normal critique ,and if your reading this ,then the
bargain of the Aeon is contained within and im perhaps holding you back from it.
Please enjoy reading these books
