I found out about this book from a fellow architect who was looking for architecture related children's books for her children. I enjoyed it so much that I purchased it for another architect friend's baby shower and will continue to purchase it for other architect friends in the future, as well as for my own children when the time comes. The story is very cute, the names are clever and the illustrations are fun. The perfect book for a future architect.

Really cute story about a termite that follows his dream despite what others say. My son read it to his 3rd grade class and they loved it too. I would say this book is good for 1st-3rd graders.

I have probably read this book to my boys 100 times now and they always love Roberto. My youngest son, Elias, wanted to give the book ten stars instead of five.

As a family we first became aware of this story on a Scholastic DVD where actor Sean Hayes reads it to animation. The puns and funny references are hilarious (sometimes subtle). It's about the plight of a termite (Roberto) who doesn't fit in because he wants to build houses, not eat them. Leaving for the big city and trying to break into the architectural world without any accomplishments to point to proves discouraging and hard; until he meets some homeless insects and he gets creative...and famous over night. Roberto's example changes termite culture...
We love this story so much we donated it to our local library who didn't have a copy in their inventory. The pages are full of small captions (almost like a comic book) so older kids who can read for themselves will be very entertained; if you read the book to younger children, you can skip those and stick to the main text or else you'll lose the main thread and also sit there forever (but that doesn't have to be a bad thing).

This book was purchased as a gift for someone graduating from college - he studied architecture. He and his friends and family appreciated the story and the illustrations. We all think it's a great gift idea. It provided lots of entertainment as it was passed around the group the whole party time.

I was happy this arrived on time, faster than expected. It came brand new just as it was stated. I find this to be a fun book to read whether you're a child or adult. The pictures are mixed media with collage work. It's not totally crazy that the main character, Roberto, is an insect who happens to be an architect. Some of the world's most architecturally gifted creatures are insects such as ants and termites. Overall, this book should be read by anyone who appreciates art and the insect world.
