Indy Savage is a former wild child (okay, maybe not so "former") and current used-bookstore owner. Lee Nightingale is a former bad boy and now runs a private investigation service. Toss together a quiet barista with a not-so-lawful side-business, a crazy Vietnam Vet, a pothead, a drag queen, family and friends who will not mind their own business, a few stun guns, and a bag of diamonds, and mix them all up with some shootings, a high-speed chase and car bombs exploding, then hang on for your first wild Rock Chick ride.

1.) The vocabulary, was my biggest issue. I’m embarrassed to admit I finished a book with these repeated phrases:—-“RIGHTEOUS” “CREEPY ICKY GUY” “DISCO NAP” “SERIOUS EUW” “AS IF” “NANNY NANNY FOO FOO.” It was unbelievable and an insult to readers. The author wants us to believe 30 yr. old women speak this way?
2.) The heroine, she’s 30 but acts like a child. It was not funny or cute. From her vocabulary and actions, she was totally immature. It was so bad, I had to go back and check her age.
3.) The storyline, she’s kidnapped three times? Really. It is nonfiction but the writing combined with the plot was disappointing.
I hate to write such an awful review but I’m upset. Lastly, as an avid reader who enjoys romance and comedy, I felt the right thing to do was to warn you.
It’s almost always the hero resisting commitment that when I find a book where the roles are reversed, I’m pretty much guaranteed to love it. I want to see the boy chase the girl, not the other way around. Indie sent Lee on quite the Chase. And Lee chased in a very caveman way. It was awesome!
There was only one thing that bothered me and I’m just going to pretend it didn’t happen because I refuse to let it ruin such a fun book. But. What the heck was that lame reason for not pursuing Indie sooner??? He’s been in love with her forever and instead of pursuing her sooner, he pushed her away and had lots of other relationships until he deemed it was time to pursue her. The only thing that mollified me was the book started at their beginning and I only heard about what should never be talked about again. So I’m ignoring that it ever happened.
I listened to the Audiobook and I highly recommend it! The narrator was awesome and I didn’t hate her male voice. That is high praise right there.
This is my first book by Kristen Ashley and it will not be the last. I loved so much about it I’m not sure where to start.
Liam “Lee” Nightingale is one hot and sexy totally alpha man who grew up with India “Indy” Savage a free spirit, fly by the set of her pants beautiful girl.
The awesome banter between Lee and Indy and the way Indy’s mind works is hilarious. All throughout the book I thought, I want to be friends with Indy and get my hands on Lee.
There’s so much I want to say about this book but it’s would totally spoil it for everyone. So read this book and find out for yourself. I hope you have some free time ahead because your going to need it, there’s many books in this series so I’m on to the next one.
Fast Forward to years later.
Current Situation: Indy needs help in a major way. Lee is a badass PI. He makes a deal with Indy; shenanigans in sue. This book has it all. Epic love story. Great one liners. Great music. A drag show. Best friends. An El Camino with an 8 track. A used book store. Hot PI's. And. A HEA!!! I love this book and I adore the Rock Chick Series! Happy Reading!!!💖📖💖

This is early work of KA's and you can tell. It's not written as well but all her hallmarks are there, ones that she continues to use to this day which proves that KA just repeats the same old storylines. Like in this story, Lee and Indy are constantly been interrupted just as they're about to get down to business and that's the same storyline that was repeated in The Gamble.
I found Indy very irritating. She's 30 and likes to think she takes after her Grandma who never grew up. She's immature and I didn't see why Lee was attracted to her but as usual, he thinks she's cute like all KA heroes think about their woman!
Indy gets herself in to scrape after scrape with Lee having to rescue her. I found myself getting bored as the book is too long. The love scenes are not as descriptive as in KA's later books but that was quite refreshing as was the fact there wasn't too many 'babe' and 'honey' being said!
My favourite book in this series is Rock Chick Regret about Sadie and Hector.

The antics of Indy and Ally always make me laugh, they are a hilarious duo.
Lee is scorching, off-the-charts, hot. He is an alpha male, through and through. His no-nonsense attitude is tested to the limit (and beyond) with Indy. She refuses to be told what to do and he expects her to listen to him. This leads to some crazy situations.
These books are one of my all time favourite series and when I need a good laugh, or in need of some hotness, that generally leads me to re-reading this whole series once again. Let's face it you can't read just one. You need to read them all, because one Rock Chick and one Hot Bunch guy is never enough!

Lee has a dangerous job but the hardest one he’s ever had is keeping Indy safe. The wild child he knew as a kid turned into a hot, crazy rock chick. Seizing his opportunity to stake a claim, he soon realises that catching and keeping Indy might be a full time job.
Throw in some love rivals, a loud barista who looks like a serial killer, a diva dog and her drag act owners and you have a recipe for mayhem.

I have enjoyed a lot of KA books. Romance, action, friendship and goofiness ;-) what more could you want, right?
this book is non-stop, there is always something happening so you will not get bored. Murder, kidnap, explosions and some crazy gay bar drag show, just to name a few...
I really enjoy the dialog in KA books, she certainly knows how to write good banter. Its hard not to laugh out loud at some of the characters. they are all so likeable. Except in this book :-( unfortunately I didn't like Indy, she seemed really ditsy, selfish and self-centred. I felt like her friends did a lot for her and she didn't do much in return. Lee's character could have been a little more developed, I feel like he was just a good looking bad guy with not much else going for him personality wise. my only issue with this book are the childish protagonists. I loved the supporting characters! I love everything else about this book just not Indy, If I had read this book a few years ago (when my sister told me about it) I probably would have loved it more...
I won't bother to read anymore in this series for the time being as I feel like there are other series id like to read more, however, I won't rule out returning to this series in the future.
Overall- good book worth reading purely for the hilarious banter between characters.
