The Rocketbook Wave provides the freedom of a traditional pen and paper notebook, while instantly blasting your notes into the cloud using your smartphone. When you use Pilot FriXion pens with the Wave notebook, you can erase your notes using your microwave oven and reuse your notebook. We designed this microwave-to-reuse notebook with real paper to give you a natural writing experience and a quick way to erase all your pages at once. It’s also kind of fun to tell people that we microwave our notebooks. Blast your handwritten notes to popular cloud services like Google drive, Dropbox, Evernote, box, OneNote, Slack, iCloud, email and more using the free Rocketbook application for iOS and Android.

Well I finally was close to the end of the notebook and with a new school year starting, I thought it was time to erase everything from last year and start fresh. I pulled up the directions on the site, and followed them. Microwaving the notebook did erase the ink, however it left behind a 'shadow or outline' of all my writing. (See the before and after pictures that I attached.)
That is not what I expected or want I understood would be the results when the pages were cleared. I unfortunately I'm not going to be able to reuse this notebook and wasted $26.
I've had the Rocketbook Wave for about a week. My initial impression is that it's ok, but not yet great.
I like the idea that I can write in a notebook (or with paper available from rocketbook's website). But I can write on many notebooks, so there is no game changer here.
I like the idea that I can scan the pages I wrote and then, relatively quickly, send those pages to a variety of cloud services or email accounts, using the Rocketbook app. But I can do that with other apps - like Scannable, scansnap, or scanner pro (among other apps).
With the other apps, I can scan multiple pages into the same pdf or other file. I have not figured out how to do that with rocketbook, so with that app, i get separate pdf pages. I'm still looking for a way to fix that.
I'm not crazy about the microwave feature for two reasons. The first reason is rocket books requires the microwave to have a rotating turntable. I have that, but my microwave is too small, so the book cannot rotate. I did not know about that constraint until I read the small print. The second reason is the notebook apparently lasts for about 5 erasures. Clearly not the last note book one will buy.
So, after one week, I find myself wondering what the big deal is. I may be missing something. It seems to me buying a notebook you like, taking pictures of the pages you've written on with one of several functional scanner apps, and then sending them to your favorite cloud service does the same thing rocketbook does. But with less hassle.
I'll keep using the rocketbook and the app for awhile longer, and revise this review if appropriate.
December 15, 2016 update:
Rocketbook is coming out with another version of their notebook. It's called the Everlast Notebook. It is due sometime in April 2017. The original notebook could be used about 5 times. The Everlast (according to the manufacturer) can be used about 1000 times. The original notebook was erased in a microwave oven. According to the manufacturer, "The Rocketbook Everlast can be reused by wiping the page clean with a moist towel." Search for "The Everlast Notebook" on kickstarter for details.
PS: This notebook also comes with an app that scans your notes. Which sounds cool and all, but you can just download some scanner apps or Adobe Spark and just take photos of your notes that way. The Rocketbook app isn't that special anyway, hasn't even had an update since I got this notebook.
Update: After just three semesters the notebook has fallen apart. For the price this notebook is not worth it at all. I really liked this thing a lot, but it cannot withstand the constant microwave treatments. The spine has fallen apart as well.

A great invention. The Frixion pans are the same price as any other pen but there are no style options, they are the all plastic pull top types. It would be nice to have a more stylish pen option. Or indeed one I can keep with the pad somehow (a holder built in?) as you can only use these pens.
See the photo, tried to erase the page. Doesn't wipe clean, this is not clear in the 'how to' on their app. Stuck it in the microwave and the page curls up like a magic fish from a cracker.
This product does not function as advertised. Don't waste your money. Very disappointing, I've had this on my wish list for ages and finally get it but will be sending it back after first use.
Results were awful. The book pages turned wavy and the corners curled. The only type of drawing compliment that erases is the FriXion pen. That's because the ink is made to burn off at 160°. Other smart paper wipes off with water which can be disastrous if you spill your tea. This solves that problem but leaves you with others. Putting the note book between two large heavy books as soon as you take it out of the microwave helps to flatten it out. Not happy that it states that it has only 5 microwaves before it starts to suffer.
There are loads of apps that will let you photograph your notes and apply OCR. This is not worth the money. Unfortunately a good idea.
The cover was damaged when it arrived, and is just thin cardboard. The paper inside is of poor quality and thin, so that after having written with a pilot frixion rollerball, although the ink is removable, the page is indented.
Saving to cloud works well. Saving as gifs is pretty rubbish (I may be doing something wrong) and transitions between images takes too long.
Fazit : Funktion ist sehr gut aber Qualität sehr enttäuschend.
Then i tried the microwave method, again following instructions. The pages all warped, the back of the notebook cracked and the ink faded but is still visible making the page look grubby.
I love the concept but the product falls massively short. Certainly not worth the £25 price tag.
