So many annoying things in this movie. The amount of times they say the girl's name (like we'd forget) when its the title of the dang movie. Don't even get me started on the girls eyebrows... lol. The acting or at least the lines they had to speak were horrendous. You could tell the actors thought the script was garbage by the looks on their faces as they delivered lines. A lot of what they were fighting about just didn't really add up or I didn't really feel their emotions because of bad acting. The mom being a B the whole movie without any real reason to be just caused me to eye roll through the whole movie. I couldn't finish it, even with only 20-30min left I couldn't take anymore. I don't even care anymore if they all of a sudden resolve all their dumb issues. The only likable characters in this was Nan and the horse.

NOT your typical PG rodeo chick flick- GREAT Family film

This movie was well written, had great actors and actresses in it. Considering it's age, and initial clip I watched, I wasn't sure if it'd be something an adult would want to watch. I love movies that ideally have horses, country-like atmosphere and especially rodeo themed ones. So I decided to give it a try and so glad I did. Most of these older films can be a little sluggish, or the trailer is the ONLY part of the movie that grabs your attention. But Rodeo and Juliet is perfectly unique in that from start to finish, you'll be introduced to many great actors, beautiful scenes, gorgeous horses, but most of all a story line that isn't just sappy sweet or drags on until you have to grab the remote and find a new movie. Even the ending I felt was nicely done. It didn't leave me hanging or wishing I hadn't watched it, OR I felt "I" could've written a better ending than that.
A great FAMILY film; with one exception.... I don't typically like movies to outwardly dwell on the ONLY bad part of the movie, whether it be cheating, lying, child abuse etc. The only BAD part was Juliet keeping a secret from her Mom about training and who was training her. The movie had a couple/three (or more) scenes where it was brought up and/or discussed, which MOST kids and or people won't even see. As a Mother myself, I do catch these things and NO it's not a huge thing, it's just the ONLY flaw I saw in the whole movie. Even the kissing, romantic scenes, were done extremely well. Maybe another issue may be the western/county style appropriate clothing worn for horseback riding lessons when Juliet first started training / riding. And when she went to the barn dance ?? Ok....NY style maybe, but seriously her outfit should have been a little less "revealing"..... But, my opinion. Just saying my version of my thought on the movie.
Great flick all in all. I would recommend to anyone, all ages. Well maybe not toddlers........ya know what I mean. I may even watch this one again. :)

Not a bad story, but mostly bad acting.

The pretty young cowboy was the only realistic character in front of the camera. Maybe his acting ability matched his good looks and set him apart. Even the horse seemed bothered by the bad acting.

Could have been a lot more fun if it wasn't for the first 90% of the film showing the mom not getting along with anyone but the sweet old lawyer. I almost quit watching due to the constant tension. Was the director playing out some failed romance making the woman the villain? We got dragged through the mud.

The story is about Juliet's mom, not Juliet or the horse. The mom should have been named Juliet. Cute play on words for the title. Fortunately, no one seem suicidal.

Worse than expected

I knew it was a cheesy family romance movie, but I didn't expect it to be this weirdly choppy, like the lines didn't fit with each other, there was no chemistry at all, and while the total story plot was exactly what one would expect from family romance they didn't do a good job of telling how they got there.

Poor acting. Cheesy dialogue. Awkward camera angles. Definitely not a girls' weekend chick-flick. It is too horrid for that. It's not entertaining and uncomfortably cringey. Both main male actors are ugly and the youngest was creepy. The female actors tend to act more like sisters than mother-daughter. So petty. Character development? There was none.

The horse was the most attractive and best acting character in the movie. He's so fast.. just like the youngest male actor.

Too many movies show parents as stupid and the disrespectful children saving the day

Too much cleavage for my family, the ladies were almost falling out of their shirts or what was supposed to be clothes. We had to throw the disc away, did not let sons watch it. Did not appreciate how the daughter spoke so disrespectful to mother then everything turns out okay. Too many movies show parents as stupid and the disrespectful children saving the day.

Decent movie

A decent movie but a bit corney. If you are going to make a horse movie, please hire an actor that can ride. I would love to see more barrel racing movies come out, and would really love to see some where the main character rides good and doesnt make me cringe.
