Rough: Wolf Ranch, Book 1 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged
Pack rule number one: Never reveal to a human.
I broke that rule the day I met the beautiful doctor.
I might be a rodeo champ, but one look at her, and I lost my concentration.
The bull tossed and gored me, and now the sweet female is on to me.
When I healed within hours, she knew something wasn’t right.
My alpha told me to watch her.
Not a problem. I’ll watch her all right. Real close.
I’ll stick to her like superglue.
And those human men who want to date her?
They’d better step back.
Because the doctor is all mine.
Whether she knows it yet or not.

It also just made it more frustrating when their inner dialogues would be about needing to get to know each other without having sex but then just more sex.
What story there was I liked but there were some editing issues.
If you like more sex then story and characters this is great.
So, firstly the plot is extremely simple and has the obvious usual tropes. I was fine with that, something doesn't have to be complex to be well made. I was less fine with the ratio smex/not-smex (very little not-smex for every smexy scene). Nothing ever happens in the not-smex part of the story. And the smexy scenes were pages and pages loooonnggggggg. Seriously, after the first one, the rest I only scanned to find the end point. And the things that harden and go moist or clench were so numerous that it was ridiculously funny.
You would also expect the heroine to meet the pack (or anyone, really). She never does. The whole story is only between the H and h as if they're on a deserted island. Even the hero's brother (the Alpha) only meets the heroine in passing. Also, there was supposed to be tension in the shape of the "Evil Neighbour" but the Final Confrontation is a flop.
This book is not 445 pages long. It felt like there was at least 50 pages of "extras" at the end. For all of the mature content, this book was way too immature for me. I will definitely not be reading anymore of this series and also be wary with these authors other works.
Boyd is a bull rider. A fun loving, playboy bull rider. But underneath his flirty ways, he's hiding hurt, pain, and rejection. He's just moving through life, taking it day by day, not really having a direction, or a goal in life. Until he gets a glimpse of a woman who grabs his attention, and won't let go! Now he just has to find a way to make her see that he isn't what she thinks.
Audrey has worked hard to become who she is. She's happy with herself, and her life, but there is still something missing. She wants the family she didn't have growing up. And even though Boyd is everything she didn't know she wanted in a man, she doesn't think he can give her what she's missing in life.
These two! There is chemistry, a molten lava heat that connects them from the very beginning. But there is so much that stands between them, keeping them apart. I really wasn't sure they were going to be able to work things out, honestly. But in the end, love always wins, and the authors pulled off an HEA that was spectacular! There were so many surprising twists and turns, I was kept guessing right through until the end! A great story, with wonderful characters, and an ending that stunned me!
I never knew I had a thing for a dirty-talking, cocky as hell cowboy shifter, but then again I've never met anyone quite like Boyd Wolf before. Out of the three Wolf brothers, Boyd is the youngest and sees himself as the screw-up of the family. He blames himself for the death of his parents at the age of twelve and has since lived his life on the move as a championship bull rider, chasing a peace and happiness he has never truly known. He's charmed his way through life--and into the beds of countless buckle bunnies--content and a bit restless with his transient lifestyle. Until he meets her. His mate.
Audrey Ames is a doctor who transferred to a small town in Montana in the hopes of finding a respectable husband and starting a family. Despite the fact that Boyd is everything hot and sexy and not what she's looking for, she can't help but fall under his spell. Their chemistry was off the charts while their interactions were kinky and so sexy. Even though there was some mild mean girls/OW drama, Audrey eventually used her common sense to figure it out and put Boyd out of his misery. Overall, this was a smut-tastic, steamy shifter read with yummy cowboys and just enough pack angst to keep you invested. I'm stoked I received an ARC of book two as we get to meet the mysterious second brother, Colton!
It was ok for a light read, but I am definitely not invested enough to go further.

No potential triggers.
Well, it's not a book to write home about but it kept me entertained for a while.
It's a typical shifter romance, light on plot and even lighter on content. You get the feeling the authors bang these books out on a schedule because they do feel a bit samey no matter which one you pick up and lets be honest, you don't buy them because they are the best thing since sliced bread, you buy them because they are an escape for a little while.
My only issue with that is the price. I mean, for light reading, it isn't cheap.
The storyline could have been much improved with a more invested author willing to put the effort in, and being honest it would have shaped the characterisation to the point the reader cared about them just a little. As it stands, it's just so-so.
There are some sex scenes, some swearing so if you are prudish don't buy the book and if you do then don't leave a mean review about it because that's just mean.
The Rodeo champion with buckle bunnies all over him, gets knocked for two when he meets sweet and shy doctor Audrey Ames and falls in love.
Now he's just got to figure out how to tell his human mate he's a wolf shifter.
Steamy in all the right places with an HEA guaranteed 5 stars.
