Hitting the mark...

Between real life and a dramatization on television, there must always be a certain amount of tension. SEAL Team does a pretty good job of splitting the difference, giving the audience a feel for what missions might be like, while accommodating the need to tell a complete story in 43 minutes or less each week. The show is careful to include the often challenging life away from the job of the team members, along with the tension and suspense of the missions.

David Boreanaz is excellent as the team's highly experienced Senior Chief. He is backed by a strong and largely believable supporting cast that constitutes the other members of his SEAL platoon, the support staff, and their CIA contacts. The ensemble cast is big enough to allow some variety in the telling of the mission of the week. This show might have some legs. Recommended.

Multi-dimensional In a Meaningful Way
Verified purchase
Seal Team Season 1 episode one opens up with one of the main characters of the tv show sharing some aspects of one of the military missions he has been on. I also like that some of the female characters of the Seal Team Season 1 are shown to also get adequate coverage and dialogue as they get introduced in episode one. I consider myself to be a happily married woman who has a healthy respect for both men and women. However, I wish that I can put it wisely in human words how empowering it is to see women portrayed in a military tv show that have their own foibles just like the men yet who also have career goals, complex emotions, and real life concerns as the men they work alongside even if some of the concerns andor goals may be sometimes different.

Love It!

Totally enjoying this show. I am not a SEAL, do not know anyone who is a SEAL or ever has been a SEAL - so I cannot speak to the authenticity. I watch shows mostly to be entertained and I totally captivated by the lives of these characters. I do know they're not real, however I also know there are men and women who put their lives on the line everyday and do it without anyone ever know their names or who they are. I appreciate shows that shed some light on that group of people so we never forget they are out there.

If you loved movies like Lone Surviver

If you loved movies like Lone Surviver, Seal team 6, Black Hawke Down. Then this show will be up your wheel house. If that is not your cup of tea then don't bother. I was very surprised by how well done the show was. I watched 5 episodes and I have to say I was impressed. Keep in mind this is a T.V show on a normal network not a cable network. Which is why I was so impressed the story line, the action and the visual effects it's obvious the show has a large budget which added to the visual of the show. I will be watching the entire season. This show has a new fan in me.

Realistic portrayal of covert ops
Verified purchase
This is, in my opinion, the best portrayal on TV of the men and women, the families, of Seal Team members. The characters are well developed by the writing and the acting is really good. I have watched all 3 seasons over and over again. I do highly recommend this program. You will enjoy it if you admire and appreciate the US military .... as much as you SHOULD.

Great show, surprise, not on cable!

It is very hard not to binge watch this show, it is so good. We try to watch just one or two episodes at a time so it will last longer, because we enjoy it so very much. It's so good we have already purchased season 2 and 3. We are almost finished watching season 2. Soo good!! (We also like Bosch and Vikings, and we miss Castle and Bones, FYI).

EXCELLENT

I've loved David Boreanaz in every role he's played since Angel to Bones. Thankfully, he's managed to avoid being typecast. I've binge-watched in to episode 5 and I'm gleefully hooked! The cast members are believable in their roles and the storylines get better each episode. CBS finally has a real winner. We can only hope they realize it and renew.

Best military TV series since The Unit

Really enjoying this well made, thoughtful series. Excellent plots and character development. I never served in military so I can't vouch for how accurate it is to real life Seal Team experiences. Best military TV series since The Unit.
