I loved reconnecting with this group of characters, but Ethan is special. To be protective of someone that he hasn't met and then take the 'point' in leading her to physical safety and then into a new and special love was slow burn magic to read.
Admittedly, the start of this novel was a bit off pace, but from the moment the guys boots were on the ground, the plot and pace picked up and turned this novel into an exceptional read.
Kimberly is (Hailey’s friend from Hailey and Grayson’s story Seal’s Embrace).
She is an Army Reservist stationed at Bagram Air Base in Afaghanistan was kidnapped during a bombing at the base and taken into the mountains.
Ethan is a Navy Seal also at Bagram Air Base sent on a mission rescue Kimberly ( whom he learned about from Hailey). He is very anxious to get
moving and rescue her.
Hailey once rescued became very close an attracted to Ethan as well as feeling safe.
This is the fourth book in the series; it has great characters, twists, turns,
Great job Makenna

When Ethan pulls her out of the enemy camp in the middle of the night it’s a race to get her to the extraction point before the enemy catches up to them.
No one is more grateful than Kim when they make it out without incident and when she is recovering in the base hospital Ethan has this need to make sure she’s safe. Even after making it back to US soil the connection between them has then taken hold and she doesn’t want to leave him. One of Ethans team mates is dating Kim’s best friend so it’s a reason for her to visit. When she visits them in San Diego she doesn’t expect the nightmare of her time in Afghanistan to follow her there.
What a fantastic story. The initial rescue was a great read, I felt all of her pain and fear. I was just desperate for Kim to be rescued. Ethan is definitely a man you want in your corner. I was so glad the Kim gave them a chance and they got their HEA
