About the authors
My most recent books are coloring book for grown-ups— FANTASTIC CATS, SANTA'S CHRISTMAS, THE WORLD OF FAIRIES, THE TWELVE DANCING PRINCESSES, CINDERELLA, and GOLDILOCKS.
I loved two things the most when I was growing up - fairy tales and horses. I used to play in an abandoned theme park near a friend's house ---our imaginations went wild there. I loved a little stone cottage which was supposed to be the house of the Seven Dwarves. And over the past 40 years I have been drawing and painting fairy tales and horses both for the 80+ books I have illustrated. Many of my fairy tales are now back in print, including THE TWELVE DANCING PRINCESSES, CINDERELLA, and THE SNOW PRINCESS. I also illustrate the HORSE DIARIES series from Random House. My daughter Whitney Sanderson is one of the authors in the series, with three books, and a fourth one in the works.
I also love cats. A CASTLE FULL OF CATS is a humorous story in rhyme. GOLDEN DREAMS, THE ART OF RUTH SANDERSON, is an art book on my 40-year career as an illustrator.

Carolyn Keene and Franklin W. Dixon are the pseudonyms under which many ghostwriters penned the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys series, respectively. Both series were created by Edward Stratemeyer, founder of the Stratemeyer Syndicate book packaging firm, in the late 1920s and early 1930s.
Stratemeyer's daughter, Harriet, and syndicate writer Mildred Wirt Benson were the two people primarily responsible for bringing the iconic character of Nancy Drew to life in the minds and hearts of millions of readers around the world.
