REVIEWS FOR SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST:
“Of the four volumes thus far, Survival of the Fittest is arguably the
most cohesive, certainly the most enjoyable for me to read. Every story
was well-chosen; every author represented by solid, engaging storytelling,
and every conclusion (even to those stories that are part of
continuing narratives) inevitable and, at the same time, wonderfully
surprising.”
—Dr Michael R. Collings
“Very enjoyable and well worth reading.”
—Hellnotes
“This anthology takes what’s expected from the genre and turns it
into the strangest, most bad-ass mix of military horror stories in the
best way possible.”
—Horror Review
REVIEWS FOR THE SNAFU SERIES:

—Horrortalk.com (SNAFU: Heroes)
“... every single story holds its own and it’s damn difficult to pick a
standout as they all leave a mark.”
—Horrortalk.com (SNAFU 1)
“... Geoff Brown and Amanda J. Spedding deserve immense credit for
both the consistent quality and extraordinary variety...”

About the authors
Matt Hilton quit his career as a police officer with Cumbria Constabulary to pursue his love of writing tight, cinematic American-style thrillers. He is the author of 12 Joe Hunter thrillers, with book 13 in the series coming soon, and 7 Tess Grey and Po Villere thrillers, with book 8 Collision Course publishing 30th September 2020.
In addition Matt has published horror/action novels 'Darkest Hour', 'Dominion', 'Preternatural', 'The Shadows Call', 'Wildfire' and "Darke'.
Matt is a high ranking martial artist, and in his day fought in the fledgling MMA scene in the UK, and was Northern Ju-Jitsu Champion 2000. He has been a cop, a detective and a private security specialist, all of which lend an authenticity to the action scenes in his books.
He has been writing since he was a small child, and is also an avid reader of crime, horror and thriller books, all of which inspire his writing style. Although seen as crime thrillers, Matt's Joe Hunter series combine elements from all of those genres, so is slightly different in flavour than many others in the same category. He is a huge fan of the pulp masters, and hopes to emulate their fast pace and derring do. Matt is the first to say that his books will never win a literary prize, but they're not intended to: they're there for pure entertainment.
Saying that Matt's first novel, Dead Men's Dust, was shortlisted for Debut Thriller of the Year 2009 by the International Thriller Writers' Organisation (ITW) and was named as a Daily Telegraph Thriller of the Year 2009, and in 2013 was a Kindle UK top ten best seller.
His books have been translated into German, Italian, Romanian and Bulgarian, and are published throughout the UK (and territories) by Hodder and Stoughton, Canelo and Severn House,, and in the USA (and territories) by William Morrow and Co, Canelo and by Down and Out Books.
Weston Ochse is the author of more than twenty five books, most recently the SEAL Team 666 books, which the New York Post called 'required reading' and USA Today placed on their 'New and Notable Lists,' and his military sci fi novel Grunt Life. His first novel, Scarecrow Gods, won the Bram Stoker Award for Superior Achievement in First Novel and his short fiction has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize. His work as appeared in comic books, and magazines such as Cemetery Dance and Soldier of Fortune.
His work has been lauded by Joe R. Lansdale, Peter Straub, Kevin J. Anderson, John Skipp, Brian Keene, Jonathan Maberry, David Gerrold, William C. Dietz, Tim Lebbon, and many more, including the New York Times, New York Post, The Atlantic, Washington Post, Denver Post, The Financial Times of London, and The Examiner (UK).
His last name is pronounced "oaks." Together with his first name, it sounds like a stately trailer park. He lives in the Arizona desert within rock throwing distance of Mexico. For fun he races tarantula wasps and watches the black helicopters dance along the horizon. He is a military veteran with 30 years of military service and recently returned from a tour in Afghanistan. He's traveled the world, been more to 50 countries, and blogs at Living Dangerously. You can google him under 'Literary Stuntman,' 'Superhero for Rent,' or 'Yakuza of the Written Word."
Tim Marquitz is the author of the Demon Squad series, The Enemy of My Enemy series (Kurtherian Gambit), the Blood War Trilogy, as well as several standalone books, and numerous anthology appearances alongside the biggest names in fantasy and horror.

J.M. (JOE) MARTIN USED TO LOAD CARGO onto aeroplanes, which is where he got his enormous muscles. That was a lot of work so he started writing comic books and role-playing games and short stories for various publishers. Joe is also the owner of Ragnarok Publications (ragnarokpub.com), and serves as the company's Creative Director.
He lives in Kentucky with his black belt wife and three spirited wee folk. He is not related to George R.R. Martin, however they do share the same fashion sense.

Kane Gilmour is the international bestselling author of The Crypt of Dracula. He has co-authored several titles with Jeremy Robinson and also writes his own thriller novels. In addition to his work in novels, Kane has had short stories appear in several anthologies and magazines, and he worked on artist Scott P. Vaughn’s sci-fi noir webcomic, Warbirds of Mars as well as on Jeremy Robinson’s comic book adaptation of the novel Island 731. He lives with his significant other, his kids, her kids, and three dogs in Vermont. He’s thinking of buying a farm to house them all.

Neal Litherland is a Northwest Indiana author who works primarily in science fiction, fantasy, and horror. He started his career as a freelancer and ghostwriter in 2008, and it took until 2012 for his fiction to see the light of day under his own name.
Geoff is an award-winning Australian writer and Australian Shadows Award finalist-editor raised in Melbourne’s gritty Western Suburbs. He is a trained nurse, and holds a Cert. IV in Professional Writing and Editing, as well as a Dip. Arts (Professional Writing and Editing).
Geoff writes fiction across various genres, and is the author of many published short stories. He has had numerous articles published in newspapers, both regional and metropolitan.
He is the past president of the Australian Horror Writers Association (2011-2013), as well as the past director of the Australian Shadows Awards.
He owns Cohesion Press, an award-winning Australian publishing house focused on fast-paced military horror, and currently works with Tim Miller, director of Deadpool, as a senior story consultant.
He is also the owner of Asylum Ghost Tours.
Copywriter by day, horror writer by night and surfer at the weekend, Kirsten Cross is based on the wilds of Exmoor and is surprisingly good natured for a horror writer. She is a serial contributor to the SNAFU military horror series, as well as the 2015 Steampunk tome 'Steamworld'. In between writing web content, getting battered by the Atlantic and practicing martial arts, she is currently exploring the wonders of Steampunk comedy, military vampire stories and a really disturbing little tale about a surfing vampire that spent time in the Catering Corps in the 19th century.
I made that last bit up.
“James A. Moore is the new prince of grimdark fantasy. His work is full of dark philosophy and savage violence, desperate warriors and capricious gods. This is fantasy for people who like to wander nighttime forests and scream at the moon. Exhilarating as hell."
—Christopher Golden, New York Times bestselling author of SNOWBLIND and ARARAT
“Gripping, horrific, and unique, James Moore continues to be a winner, whatever genre he’s writing in. Well worth your time.”
– Seanan McGuire, New York Times bestselling author of the InCryptid and Toby Daye series
James A. Moore’s, The Last Sacrifice, the 1st book in The Tides of War series, delivers on every level. A pulse quickening dark fantasy ripe with fascinating, multifaceted heroes and villains, and a vein of the horrific that barely hides, squirming just below the surface of it all. I can’t wait to see where this goes in Book 2.
Thomas E. Sniegoski – New York Times Best Selling author of The Fallen series, and the Remy Chandler books.
"You emerge from any Moore novel feeling like you've spent some time in that world––traumatised, beaten up, bloodied from battle––and The Last Sacrifice is no exception. Brilliantly imaginative, intricately drawn, this is a novel and an experience you won't forget in a hurry." - Tim Lebbon, author of The Silence and Relics
“THE LAST SACRIFICE is brilliant, devious, dark and compelling. This is epic fantasy at its very best. Highly recommended!” –Jonathan Maberry, NY Times bestselling author of KILL SWITCH and MARS ONE
JAMES A. MOORE is the author of over forty novels, including the critically acclaimed Fireworks, Under The Overtree, Blood Red, Blood Harvest, the Serenity Falls trilogy (featuring his recurring anti-hero, Jonathan Crowley) Cherry Hill, Alien: Sea of Sorrows and the Seven Forges series of novels. He has twice been nominated for the Bram Stoker Award and spent three years as an officer in the Horror Writers Association, first as Secretary and later as Vice President.
Never one to stay in one genre for too long, James has recently written epic fantasy novels in the series SEVEN FORGES (Seven Forges, the Blasted Lands, City of Wonders and The Silent Army). He is working on a new series called The Tides Of War. The first book in the series The Last Sacrifice, came out this last January and the sequel, Fallen Gods, is due out in late December. Pending novels also include A Hell Within (a Griffin & Price Novel) co-written with Charles R. Rutledge and an apocalyptic Sci-Fi novel tentatively called Spores. Why be normal?
Being a confirmed Luddite, he is working up the nerve to plunge completely into the electronic publications age.
