affordable (especially compared to Otterbox who really seem to just be coasting on their name).
Tough this feels like it could take a good number of falls from a reasonable height and survive while protecting my iPhone XS Max.
Not slick the edges are a rubber material perhaps TPU which keeps the case from feeling like it’s going to slip out of my hand.
Screen lip good amount of lift above the screen. Won’t stop most rocks from hitting the screen on a face first hit but small pebbles should not be an issue. And really no case is going to have a lip big enough to stop a rock from hitting the screen in a face first fall it’d be impractical.
Unobtrusive branding- I don’t know about you but I hate when products scream their brand name and make it impossible not to notice. I’m not buying advertising space for the company. Obviously some branding is going to happen, but in the case of this product it’s in the form of a small subtle ‘SUPCASE’ on the lower right side it’s small and on the black case it’s black glossy text against a black matte finish. Holding it st arms length and looking directly at it it’s sort of readable but not really. And then UB Pro on the back on the kickstand, you can see this in the photos by supcase.
Secure- a fall is not going to knock the iPhone out of this case. I’m pretty sure the case would have to break before your phone will go anywhere. And as noted earlier that’s not going to happen in normal usage at least not easily.
The screen protector- it’s a thin film of plastic with fairly obvious cut outs for the front camera, depth camera, and ambient light sensor. I didn’t notice the discoloration others have reported nor the bubbles. However it didn’t feel like it would absorb much of an impact. I’m honestly surprised Subcase even bothered with this and that in doing so they didn’t make it tempered glass.
I ended up taking the plastic out which was not easy (I had to use a lit match to melt bits off the sides) your experience may vary as I’ve seen people remove it entirely with minimal issue.
I replaced it with a screen protector from TOZO which is the only one I found that works with this case and doesn’t get pushed up. It’s not 100% coverage but the exposed bit of screen is barely big enough for a fingernail. It’s hard to even tell I have it on.
Wireless/Qi charging works however you may need to fiddle with it if you’re using a stand. I’ve got a 3 in 1 from senzle which works but only after I removed the little padding on the base of the stand which is meant to keep your iPhone stable. This case adds enough weight and surface area on the bottom that it’s not going to fall over if it’s leaning against the Qi charging pad. That said I’ve got a different stand from bestcase coming in two days. I just like the overall look of it more. I’ll update this review with my experience with that wireless charger.
The lightning port and the sound on/off switch are kind of annoying. I guess they protect against dust getting in there but it comes with the cost of making it a chore to turn on or off sound and stands with built in plugs will likely have issues because of how much depth is added to the bottom of the phone with this case. The sound thing is less of an issue for me since I typically keep my phone on silent. But the lightning port cover is why I started looking into wireless charging.
Overall I’m happy with this case. There are areas of improvement but overall it feels good.
The screen is nice and clear and so far I'm not having any issues with it like others are having.

1 x Supcase iPhone 10s Max case
1 x Set of instructions
1 x Belt clip
I already had a Supcase on my 10s max which I really liked however it needed to be replaced due to the fact I decided to tip paint all over it and completely ruined it - I managed to clean the paint off the outside and none of the paint managed to get on the actual phone which did surprise me as this does have cutouts it could of easy ninja'd through but thankfully it did not but once I had cleaned it all and left it to dry out it just looked tatty and horrible (white paint -.-...) So I figured I would invest in a new one.
This version, unlike my last one, actually comes with a fold-out stand on the back which is great for me as I watch a lot of Netflix when I am out and about and having to hold the phone whilst watching is annoying (First world problems much?) so the inclusion of a stand was a great addition for my purposes. When the parcel arrived I removed the contents from the box which you get the case obviously but also a fairly sturdy belt clip which I personally do not use but its nice to have it included and also some instructions and that is all. Thankfully this one I ordered was not damaged and arrived in perfect condition (unlike the last one). Firstly the belt clip that they include with the majority of their case's is a pretty sturdy clip that manages to hold the phone in place really well and from my testing pegging it around the garden like a mental patient on day release from shady acres managed to hold the phone really well in place however the same could not be said for my trousers which promptly fell down and got me a swift telling off from the misses for being so stupid so aside from this... All good! however in my day to day life, I do not choose to use that as personally I think it would make your phone a target to be stolen however not easily stolen as it really does hold the phone well. As for the case, I really do like the simple design that Supcase use on there cases as they are in my opinion if you go for the black version very stealthy and just look really good so good in fact it makes me feel like James Bond with a spy phone and I am not ashamed to admit I dart around the house pretending to be a spy which also got me a swift telling off from the misses so I do not recommend doing that but either way they really do look good.
The installation process for the case is very straightforward and only requires minimal effort. Once installed inside the case the phone looks and really great with a solid feel. All of the ports are sealed with rubber flaps that can be easily opened to gain access to the port and these do help a lot to keep grit and dirt out from the inside of the case which can be an annoyance. All the buttons are covered yet still pressable with no misclicks or hassle of any kind which I have experienced with other brand cases. Thanks to the iPhone 10s max being wireless charge capable I do not even use the charging port on the bottom of my iPhone anymore so to know that it is completely sealed is great for me but if I do need to use it, it is nice to know I can open the flap and still have unrestricted access without having to take the case off and on every time. Once you install the case you will notice an increase in weight which is obviously going to happen however it is not bad at all and really does not add much overall. The size of the case once installed does make the phone a little taller and thicker but again its barely noticeable and I would rather tolerate that than dropping my phone without a case and releasing you cracked the screen or the back panel and then swiftly jump off a cliff head first into shark/piranha-infested waters for a quick death. Because I often watch movies or TV shows on my iPhone/iPad when I am out the stand really does come in handy for me as it holds the phone up so I can be as lazy and not have to hold it. The stand feels really rigid and does a good job at holding the phone up not just for watching media but for facetime calls and so on so I am happy they included a version like this.
Now for the most important part... The reason I buy these types of cases is because I am a neat freak and can not stand any marks or scuffs on any of my electronics as it will drive me insane so my new shiny gadget comes straight out of the box and straight into a case like this for my own sanity and wallet. I have personally dropped this phone about 7 times in the past month since installing this case which has resulted in me panicking like a right queen and being too scared to look at the phone just in case it had in fact damaged it but thankfully every time the case has saved me from the swift cliff jump I mentioned earlier as the repair cost for these phones screen or backplate wise is just ridiculous. That being said though there is an area that I am a little less than impressed on recently and that is the screen protector which is a plastic material but still it goes a good job at keeping the screen scratch free which thank god it does for my own sanity but unfortunately it doesn't take much to actually scratch the screen protector on the outside which can be annoying after some time as it shows every single mark and scuff which does, in fact, trigger my OCD and ends up with me replacing it soon after the fact so I think if possible they could improve on this part then you will have a perfect case with the perfect price which I love and have loved for many years now. Overall I do recommend these cases as I have used them for years and will continue to do so.
All buttons work well with it on and the case doesn’t add too much weight considering it is a fairly large.
It comes with a separate plastic additional clip on stand which is useful for when wanting to watch films but would be too big to have on day to day.
Screen protector is good but have to be careful when putting the case on for the first time as it does attract hair etc. On the underneath so wipe the phone screen and the case screen on the underneath clean before putting the case on.
Overall a great case that does a good job of protecting the phone.
