It is a blessing to have an author who uses thoughtful language where words are carefully chosen and used correctly. The storylines at heart are simple: good, evil, ignorant (as in lacking knowledge), lessons learned, growth, loyalty, family. But around the storylines are wonderful details and subplots. I look forward to the next story and hope that the other elementals will have their continuing stories told as well.

Oh my gosh!! Where to start!! Well, first if you are a fan of mermaids I think you will love this book. Start at the beginning though, you don’t want to miss out on the fun that starts with book 1!! It definitely builds from there with a solid group of supernatural friends that defy the odds and overcome whatever is thrown at them. It’s so nice to be along for the ride with these girls. Especially Targa (the mermaid). I fell in love with her story first and maybe that’s why I’m especially partial to her journey.
So aside from that, there’s history, ancient curses, family bonding, friendships, family storytelling and so much more. This book definitely puts together a lot of history from these characters past and leaves you intrigued to see what will happen in the future with a huge cliffhanger.

Don’t waste anymore time, go ahead and read this book (or start with the 1st one in the series!)

Okay...so these days being a mother and a wife and working full time, I have very little time to actually read an entire book, but I made it through this one within 3 days! It was in a word...fantastic. We start off where the last book ended, with Targa's mother being called back to shore and her memories returning, and her, Targa, Antoni and Emun sit down to listen to the story of the century! There's historical flashbacks, action, fighting, war, love, and of course magic! I loved the entire story and I can't wait for the third and final book in this series!

Just finished this book in the series after a long break from this world, then I stumbled upon a Pyro novella and couldn’t find more to the academy there and decided to go back to the oceanic part of this world. I’d read all of Mira’s novellas and hoping to finally have sum of past tied up. While I loved how the author gave us her current past and then her past life, I was left with more curiosity and questions and how she somehow had another childhood.
While I still curiously peaked more, I got answers too, or lead down the road to where I feel it’s coming to a head.
Tonight I finished this book and I was going to start the next tomorrow. But the feeling the end leaves you with, and the words “The End” with mention on the next book after it. I had to at least open the next book and read a little before sleep.

This is the second book in the series but I feel that you can read this story without reading the first book and become engaged and enthralled with the story. This book tells the history and backstory of Mira/Bel’s life. It has amazing new characters both heroes and villains that you will either love or love to hate. This author is an amazing story teller so if you normally do not like mermaid stories I employ you to give this story a try. This storyline is deep and engaging. I promise that you will be looking for other books by this author once you read this one

Targa, being a mermaid and an elemental, is able to find any siren in any ocean and not only find them but call them to her. After finding that the man responsible for breaking into her house is her brother from over a hundred years ago. They have been worried about their mother. Is she safe or has she gone salt flush? Targa calls her and after a few days she is there. Now they are listening to her story. There are things that makes Targa and the rest of the people very angry. Now they have to find a way to save the rest of the mermaids and find them a home.

I described this book to my parents as one that pulled away from the rest of the series and then did a complete circle to come right back to where it had pulled away from. And I told them that while super excited about what I had just read - and while disappointed I had run out of pages! Haha!
I'm going to be counting down the days for the Salt and the Sisters to be released!

I’m loving this series so much! I enjoyed that we had a book from Mira’s POV and we learned about her life before she had Targa. I loved all the history of sirens and how there are more civilisations to learn about in this world. I cannot wait to read what happens next because it ended on a cliff hanger but gutted that I have to wait now! Hopefully not too long.
