no No and NO!!! Christmas romance on a foundation of low self-esteem and repetitive behaviors, yuck.

Olivia and Jeff started out as childhood friends and just as they were forming a closer relationship he suffers a tragedy and abandons her for years without a word. Olivia's numerous efforts to reach out is ignored. And it turns out in the meantime he married and had a child, and just as that marriage is falling apart he decides to show up at their old annual Christmas resort, pretending it was a chance reuniting but its so obvious he just wants to hook up with Olivia and re-kindle what they had. And Olivia being the sad sap with no self-worth immediately buys his excuses and gives him another chance - only to be dumped just one more time. Olivia does her best to finally move on with a new guy, Gregg, from work, who is a dominating oaf and she, with her lack of self-worth pretty much lets him dictate their relationship and her career goals as he sees fit. Andwhen Christmas comes around, she yet again continues to return to Hawaii, the place of so much pain and no surprise, she just happens to run into, wait for it, a newly divorced Jeff with his daughter. And her new BF Gregg also arrives to insert himself into the reunion with a proposal of marriage. She is torn between the 2 men who basically have designs on her because of their own needs. Really? All Olivia needs to do is to love herself enough to realize she deserves more than what either of these men are offering, which as the saying goes, are just masculine displays of "I love ME and I want YOU - to make ME happy". This is a horrible Christmas tale and only the shallowest low esteem person would buy it as a happy tale. And I hate the way Jeff uses his young daughter to entrap Olivia into spending time with him. Desperate to be happy for Christmas? Not like this. No no and NO.

Gorgeous Hawaiian Setting and Great Acting. I Loved it.

Goodness people are hard on this movie. I loved it. I think it is super realistic that it takes people a while to know themselves. And also to realize that life is too short to settle for an okay life.

I thought the acting was better and more realistic than most Christmas movies. And what fun to get Hawaiian culture...Mele Kalikimaka. Give it a chance! I loved it!

Lot of flaws, could have been better

Dragging out the relationship, especially the final yr to get married, you'd think at that point they would have tied the knot right away. And to top it off they don't even roll credits playing romantic christmas music.. it just suddenly ends after what should have been a sweet ending.. they really blew it right there.

Beautiful and heartwarming story for those that believe that love will find a way. Funny and light hearted story about two families that met at a resort in Hawaii and their kids take a liking for each other until life steps in and they move on with their lives. If you are looking for a sweet, mushy, follow your dreams and a Christmas miracle, look no further. I loved it and hope you will too.

I thought I'd like it...

...but I didn't. I ((almost)) really liked the female lead, but I ended up thinking she was terrible in an airhead kinda way. She waits until the LAST MINUTE to crush someone?... I liked the lead guy, although he was a bit wishy washy at one point. My favorite character was the leading man's dad. I think I would have fallen for him :)

Love Always Wins!

I like how this showed how timing can be off but if it is meant, love will conquer all. Also, I think them getting to know each other in the end with a child involved was a great idea. People that wanted the marriage right away challenge what healthy steps needed to be taken. I highly recommend.
