Olivia and Jeff started out as childhood friends and just as they were forming a closer relationship he suffers a tragedy and abandons her for years without a word. Olivia's numerous efforts to reach out is ignored. And it turns out in the meantime he married and had a child, and just as that marriage is falling apart he decides to show up at their old annual Christmas resort, pretending it was a chance reuniting but its so obvious he just wants to hook up with Olivia and re-kindle what they had. And Olivia being the sad sap with no self-worth immediately buys his excuses and gives him another chance - only to be dumped just one more time. Olivia does her best to finally move on with a new guy, Gregg, from work, who is a dominating oaf and she, with her lack of self-worth pretty much lets him dictate their relationship and her career goals as he sees fit. Andwhen Christmas comes around, she yet again continues to return to Hawaii, the place of so much pain and no surprise, she just happens to run into, wait for it, a newly divorced Jeff with his daughter. And her new BF Gregg also arrives to insert himself into the reunion with a proposal of marriage. She is torn between the 2 men who basically have designs on her because of their own needs. Really? All Olivia needs to do is to love herself enough to realize she deserves more than what either of these men are offering, which as the saying goes, are just masculine displays of "I love ME and I want YOU - to make ME happy". This is a horrible Christmas tale and only the shallowest low esteem person would buy it as a happy tale. And I hate the way Jeff uses his young daughter to entrap Olivia into spending time with him. Desperate to be happy for Christmas? Not like this. No no and NO.
