Other than that the display is amazingly bright and beautiful. SIze is the one for cellphones costing 3 times this price. The reason for this being cheap is mainly the processor. Generally speaking the phone is much slower than high end phone. That I knew when I ordered and is reflected in the price, so that's ok. The big issue is the 3G vs. LTE.

So I am with Rogers and have the 10GB plan. Unfortunately my Xiaomi phone charging port was on the fritz and I was NOT paying the ridiculous prices from Rogers for a new phone. So I just happened to stumble across this Samsung model and I am so happy I did!
It is the same size as my old Xiomi phone, a tad lighter, but the camera on this phone is amazing at this price point!
So far the only negatives is the lack of screen protectors and cases but I know that will change in the future.
Thanks for carrying this great phone!!
The default screen protector is not that great and actually messes with the image a little bit, so be sure to buy your own. Samsung software is top notch.
The white colour also looks really cool under light.
Im currently on Bell Canada and LTE works fine.
$350 for a shiny paperweight, and I no longer have a functioning phone. While it worked the phone was excellent. But for your sake, pay the extra money and get one from a reputable buyer.
Con: When I ordered, it said the white one comes with 64 gigs SD card, but it did not. Instead it came with dual sim slots.
I checked the site, after I got the phone, the description has been changed.
It is pretty weird.
Overall: Good phone
The phone's fingerprint sensor is intolerably slow and unreliable. My 2.5 year old moto Z play opens up faster. Even after applying all the fixes you can find on YouTube in the phone's setting the issue still persists.
After that, you are greeted by a version of Android that looks like it was designed for use in kindergarten classrooms.
To add to that, the Google feed does not exist, and you get the terribly named Bixby as an assistant. Bixby? Seriously?! The name just makes me angry.
Finally, the phone is like a slippery fish. Good luck holding it without dropping it. Fingerprints are instantly visible at any point of contact.
Although I guess it is "average" size for a phone these days, it is a bit big for me, unfortunately that seems to be the way phone manufacturers are heading. The in-screen fingerprint sensor is OK but still nowhere near as good as a dedicated one, especially with a screen protector or dirty hands, kind of a gimmick. The obvious corner cut in the A50 to get the price down though is the camera, images are kind of blurry and washed out, below average for a midrange device, especially one that is above average on the midrange price scale.
Overall though, not a deal breaker for someone who is looking for specifically a Samsung in this price range if that's what you're used to and prefer the familiar UI.
In addition, the screen has this yellow tint issue that no matter how much you try to change the settings, it's there. I read on some forums that some a50's had this specific issue and it seemed that we just had bad luck and got the defective ones, so maybe it's not all A50's.
It has lots of onboard memory and the ROM is expandable to 512Gb! if needed, though for me the included 64Gb MicroSD card is plenty big enough for tunes and wallpaper!! Dual-SIMs is nice but I doubt I'll use that feature. The included case is pretty thin and doubt it would protect much but allows the phone to stand out. I bought an OtterBox case for it (way more protective). Was worried about buying an "international" Latin model as I was worried about how long it would take me to switch to English. It's literally the first thing it asks when turned on!! Couldn't be easier. This phone meets my needs and then some. So far I'm very happy with this phone as it's not only meets my needs now, but has the capability to expand if my needs grow.
What's remarkable in an age of communication, is that the smartphone reviews spent four pages talking about the camera. I was not shopping for a camera - but a phone. The most essential aspect seems to be ignored.
I settled on the Samsung A50 which arrived in a day, with a complimentary case and SD card for storage.
Set up was simple, and the phone charges quickly. The fingerprint access was updated as I was setting it up, and works really well (some reviewers seemed to have issue with this feature).
Downloading my radio app and some news apps was a struggle because one of the Samsung apps was 'blocking' everything else from working. Once I removed the offending app - the others downloaded quickly. Not sure what that was all about!
The phone is light to hold, and comfortable. I like the screen resolution but I am not playing videos or games.
Bluetooth connection is remarkable quick - something my older phone had failed to do without going into settings and telling it to connect.
All in all, after only using it for two days, I am happy with the purchase. I am glad to recommend it to those who want a decent phone.
UPDATE May 2020: One of the big issues I have been having is trying to answer a call. No matter how often I try to hitting or swiping the answer button - nothing happens. There has been some improvement with updates but for a while I have had to allow the call go to voicemail and then return the call. Not what I was hoping for... no kidding right? I am drifting back toward the iphone...
Im coming from a samsung s8, and lg v30+.
The a50 screen is great.
batterie life Is great, youll easily get a day of use out of it.
It may lack a bit of power during multi tasking, but I rarely notice it.
One UI is a breeze to use.
the only down side is the horrible finger print reader, worst one ever. I never use it anyway, since it often take 4-5 attempt. It's the only thing I miss from my lg v30, instant opening.
Ah and the camera, it get the job done to take picture of text or watever to remember, but as a photography tool, forget it.
also the dual sim + sd card slot is great for travel.
