Sandpiper Cove: A Hope Harbor Novel by Irene Hannon I would give this book 4 1/2 stars if it was possible. I loved this story but I love all of Irene Hannon's books. However, her Hope Harbor series will always hold the top place in my heart of her works. Her characters, the setting, the writing makes this and all of her books jump to life. While it is true that I love this book and I love Hope Harbor, I still love, love Sea Rose Lane the best. I hate to see this series come to an end. Each of these books are stand-alone books which I also appreciate. The characters live in the town of Hope Harbor and, therefore, are mentioned in the other books which gives such a pleasant view of the town and its people. I really do not like "series" books where you have to purchase the next book to continue the story. Each of these books demonstrate strong Christian values without being preachy. This story deals with teen bullying, the possible devastation of rumors, a convicted felon & a Chief of Police. Yes, it is a love story. The love of God for mankind. The love of a man for a woman. The love of a man for his dog. The love of a town for its neighbors. You can read this book AND enjoy it without having nightmares. Your teenager (girl or boy) could read this. And, Charlie is in all 3 books! Luv Charlie! I get many laughs from the Priest and the Preacher (who are also in all 3 books). If you are looking for a clean, enjoyable read, try the Hope Harbor series. I recommend all 3 of these books.

The story of Lexi and Adam is the best in the series! I really connected with these 2 characters and their story. The fact that they were on opposite sides of the law to start with and found their way to each other is a testament to our faith, trust and giving people a second chance. Irene Hannon is known as one of the best Christian authors and I have read almost all her books. What she shows through her stories is how our faith in God and in other people can help us make choices in our life's that we would not necessarily think could ever happen. Who would think an ex-con who had been in prison for 5 years could end up dating the chief of police? Now that is something that probably would not happen in real life but when you learn about Adam's years of growing up and how he got to prison then it is easy to see how God helped along the way. Lexi has her own quilt and loss of faith due to how her husband died. She has been living with that for 5 years and not moving on in her life. With a little help from friends and encouragement from others they get past obstacles placed in their way. There is another storyline in the book that I will let the reader discover as I do not want to give all away to this wonderful book. One thing I always take away from one of this authors books is a positive view on life that is better when we put trust in our faith with God. Thank you Irene Hannon for another excellent story!

I absolutely loved Sandpiper Cove! When I read the summary and discovered Police Chief Lexie Graham and ex-con Adam Stone were the main characters I was intrigued. What an original storyline. This type of relationship falls outside social norms, so I couldn't wait to see how author Irene Hannon would handle this unique and tricky connection. She did a fantastic job of presenting both the attraction and the challenges to be dealt with between them, but what an amazing payoff in the end. The last chapter and epilogue had me crying, swooning and cheering all at once!

There's a wonderful cast of secondary characters in Lexie's son Matt, her mom Annette, co-worker Luis, Charley the taco-maker, and Reverend Baker to name a few. The story wouldn't have been complete without Clyde the rescue dog, he tied the whole story together. They all added a rich layer of dialogue and understanding as to what it means to live as community in a small charming seaside town. An at-risk teen name Brian and the struggles he faced while trying to navigate high school and find acceptance as the new kid on the block was especially poignant and touching.

It doesn't happen often that all aspects of a story come together so well, but they did in Sandpiper Cove. Loyalty, commitment, friendship, encouragement, faith and love, the things of value that make life memorable, they're all there in this book.. I'll be thinking about all these wonderful characters and rereading that beautiful ending a time or two, until the next book in the series, Pelican Point, comes out next year. I'm also excited for Hannon's Code of Honor suspense series that releases this October with Dangerous Illusions.

Is Adam Stone a "damaged board"? Starting life over as an ex-convict, in a small town, is not an easy thing to do, but Adam Stone has managed to live a simple life as a responsible citizen, out of the limelight in his solitary cabin by the Oregon coastline. Irene Hannon never disappoints, whether it's a thriller or a romance. And in this book
there's a mixture of both. Lexi is the police chief, a widowed single mum, and Adam is an ex-con looking for a fresh start. Both these characters are real, sinful people saved through the grace of God. What really excites me about this book is the ability of the author to not hide any of the difficulties or flaws in the main characters. Both of them have issues from the past but it's such a joy to watch them come to trust each other, and God, more. Lexi's son provides a few of the lighter moments in the book and the way Adam takes care of a stray abandoned dog is a subplot in itself. Grab a cuppa and settle down for a brilliant read.

In this story Lexie and Adam change but also many of the other characters and take us along with them on the way. Charley is a wonderful character and I was never sure if there wasn't something rather mystical about him.

I love book series but with each one in the hope harbor series it gets more like a stand alone as apart from Charley and the Reverend and Father, the squabbling Clergy, you hear very little of other characters that you got to know in the previous ones. So although it was a good story there was so much focus on Lexie , Stone and the vandalism, sometimes with too much detail, that I was missing the other characters. A little disappointed.
