HOWEVER- that being said. The ending of this book makes soooooo much more sense now. Lol. I feel like my entire outlook on this book has changed after reading the entire thing. Sooo if you are like me and seriously questioning yourself on finishing this one up, just do it. I promise it’ll all be so much more clear in the end...

Poor Sibel. Born in a cult with an abundance of half brothers and sisters. Her Daddy, the leader offers his “sweet nectar” from God to those that need it and to feel closer to the good lord...Sibel might have been the only one with sense once upon a time and frees herself.
Finding her way in a traveling Haunted Circus - she meets her guys, Baine, Jackal, Cronus and Timothy.. All just as messed up psychologically as her, they form this bond to help “eradicate” the demons of this world.
With descriptive writing and steamy bloody “fun times” between Sibel and her guys - this author delivered a creepy, dark rollercoaster of a world that gave you all the emotional thrills at the very end.
This book definitely is for the ones who enjoys dark/twisted reads. I did not expect this ending and am glad I held out till the end.
*Overall 3.5/5
*Heat? 4/5 (1 group scene was dark and steammmy)
*Dark 4/5 (Rape, sex with a minor, blood, killing, stabbing)
*First person POV (Sibel only)
*Fast burn
*HEA? Hmm. Read to find out. Does anyone really get a HEA?? Lol
Here’s my brain while reading this:
What the frick am I even reading... ohhh ohh okay. This is good. I like this. Oh hello who is that. Oh mannn * insert certain theory of the plot* Ope. Oh no. Dang. Ha! I knew it. I knew my theory was gonna be in there. Ohh she did that good. Well played author well played. Oh dayyyum. Okay now I want more.
Seriously. Don’t start this book if don’t have a block of time to read. But do start this book if you like DARK books. There’s trigger warnings galore in this thing. Heck the whole book is a trigger warning. Ohh but was it delicious.
Honestly first little while reading I thought it was going to be a DNF. Then I was like meh this is going to be a low low rated one if I do rate it at all. Then the magic happened and everything started coming together and I was like what the heck where’s this been. And finished the book on one setting and at 4 am. It’s a very interesting story. One that I have not read over and over so it was most refreshing in that sense.
If you can or like to read dark books. Try this one. Pick this one. Choose this one. It will be worth your time. Just see it out. Get past that first little part and let the book settle in your brain.
Would possibly read again. And will definitely be keeping an eye out for more by this author.
Sibby has a unique way of deciphering evil and expunging them from this world with her henchmen in tow. She is crazy and rightfuly so.. The setting is a Haunted traveling carnival, and what better way to rid evil.
“I’m not crazy!” I screech. I take a deep, calming breath and arrange the smile back on my face. “I’m just passionate.”
I love a good blood thrusty heroine and H.D. Carlton nailed it!!!!. I absoutly love where she went in this novella. This book is full of blood, gore, guts, and steam. Heed the trigger warning it's not for the faint of heart. I can not say enough how highly I recommend this book if you have love all things dark. The cover is a work of art and a must to add to my bookshelve.

Very much enjoyed this dark tale! There's plenty of blood and gore, and it will keep you guessing along the way. It ended up being one of several scenarios I guessed, and I like that I wasn't able to be 100% certain.
The ending was a little abrupt, I was left wanting more—but that is a compliment to the author! Looking forward to checking out more of her work.
If you're looking for a good spooky book for Halloween, I would absolutely recommend this one.

Satans Affair is novella that is not necessary but is recommended to be read before Haunting of Adeline.
I absolutely loved this book! It was definitely a thigh clench on times that’s for sure! I feel it is one of those reads where you’re better off not knowing much about it before starting. It’s so different to my usual reads, but I love it’s originality and it’s the writing style. It’s a real page turner, I really struggled to stop reading giving me later nights than I planned for, when I wasn’t reading it I was thinking about it.
If you’re a fan of dark, erotic and not for the faint hearted storylines this one is for you. I really think it’s not given the credit and attention it deserves. H.D Carlton’s other books are already on my TBR.
