Writing professionally since 2008, LeTeisha Newton’s love of romance novels began long before it should have. After spending years sneaking reads from her grandmother's stash, she finally decided to pen her own tales. As many will do during their youth, she bounced from fantasy, urban literature, mainstream, interracial, paranormal, heterosexual, and LGBT works until she finally rested in contemporary romance.
LeTeisha is all about deep angst and angry heroes who take a bit more loving to smooth their rough edges. Love comes in many sizes, shapes, and colors, as well as with—or without—absolute beauty and fairy tale sweetness. She writes the darker tales because life is hard … but love is harder.

With Jessie being shot, you would think that the FBI would close ranks around the agent who’d recently lost her partner, even though they suspected her of being dirty since she wasn’t harmed when he was killed. But no, only Corso DeLuca stepped up to protect the agent. But he had other reasons, you see he was friends with Jessie’s partner and lover Gregorio (Gregory) Luciano and had sworn to Gregorio that he would protect Jessie.
The story is well written with well rounded characters given the fact that it is a short story in an anthology. I love how the characters interact with each other, their love-hate relationship and how quickly the relationship turned.
The surprise at the end shocked me, I had no clue, though when you think about it later, the clues where right in front of your face.
If you love mafia romances, I recommend you read the whole SAVAGE BLOODLINE anthology, but CORSO has a special place in my heart.
My 3 stars are because I don't feel the authors did the series justice with these short stories. There was no space to develop the characters or the stories. It was all the same formula of meet, bang, kill, HEA. I would have loved to read a full-length story and really delve into the family and all of the characters. If not offered in a part-series boxset (parts 1-3), then releasing a different title every other week or month would have worked. As a reader, I was rushed and left hanging. I wanted more. The stories were good, the characters exciting, and I was introduced to a lot of new authors. So I expected to want more but not in this way. I lost excitement for the series early on. It's difficult to muster anything other than mild curiosity when things are happening at such a fast pace and the story seems incomplete.
The well-known bestsellers’ works were outstanding. Xavier, Amarie & Keta’s books were really good with Kenya’s book as my absolute favourite and starting off the series with a bang. Unfortunately it went a lot downhill from there. The heroines in the other books are mostly weak women who apparently lose all sense at the touch of a man. I can understand sexual attraction but these women are willing to risk their morals & families for these men. As much as the “alpha male” can be really attractive, it mostly works when his counterpart is not a flailing damsel under his thumb. The men hold all the power in these relationships. Of course each first scene establishes the man as this phenom who can get any woman he wants and is obviously not short of bed partners. The number of books that just start off right in the middle of the man’s said encounter was astounding and I rolled my eyes through each one. And of course all the women are meek little lambs who are just above virgin status. All inexperienced having waited all their lives for these men with their huge above-average appendages. But that’s not all, with all the power, the alpha males get to decide who their women may or may not speak to or be around while also simultaneously choosing when they are ready to start relationships with them. The women are all in and in love at first touch while they remain disposable to the men until they are ready to assume a relationship. And up to that point, the women must remain in their beds ready for their use.
Also, for all things written that are holy, can the gods of romance novels please free these authors from the ‘secret baby’ trope. The fact that in this year of our lord 2022, female authors are still writing these women who are misinformed and confused by their reproductive system is grotesque. Some aren’t ready for kids and yet there are zero contraceptives in sight. And each one is “surprised” by their body’s symptoms as if every woman in the world isn’t hyper aware of her body’s changes if she should have unprotected relations. Not to mention, if said pregnancy is unwanted, Plan B does exist. I’m thinking most of these authors might need to review their sex ed notes.
The worst transgressor in this series was CD Samuda. This author, with her full chest, wrote of how a grown man had been attracted to a child. And no, this wasn’t the bad guy that gets offed at the end. He’s a great Deluca who met and fell for a 15 year old as a whole man but as the heroine’s mom put it, he “waited for her to mature”. And she said this swooning because she’d been aware of and happy about this attraction. But I thought maybe I was being sensitive so I continued reading until this woman is waving around her battery-operated boyfriend and letting her husband know that, while he was in a coma, she had asked the doctor to help her get his member up so she could get a mould of his appendage. While he was in a coma!!! This violation is sold as something sexy and honourable since she wanted his member to enjoy while he lay in a coma for two years.
This author wrote this, her editor edited this, the publisher read this and they all agreed to keep that in the book! Seriously?
As an author I hadn’t read before, I had just bought some of her books but after that, I returned each one with swiftness. I was appalled. And this was a regular old contemporary romance - not anything dark where something like that might be expected.
Just disappointing really.
More than anything, I hope more of these interracial romance authors realise that just because they are only interested in black women being loved exclusively by white men, doesn’t mean that the only black men who exist in their books have to be bad. And these women don’t always have to experience some level of racism or multiple microaggresions to make their relationship valid. Racism doesn’t always have to be the major obstacle that the couple must overcome. And on the topic of black women, how is this whole series without a woman with 4c hair? Or even a wig/weave? Or braids/locs? They all just have hair that these men can easily tuck behind their ears, there may have been one bonnet but no other reference to the experience of black women and their hair especially at night. They all sleep and wake up with their hair flowing and framing their faces beautifully.
This had some interesting books but while it’s necessary to not always depict black woman as too strong and independent, it doesn’t mean they need to be weak and stupid servants to their sexual desires. The heroines written by Keta Kendric and Kenya Wright who were allowed to be vulnerable but also could hold their own were the sexiest and made the connection with their partners that much more interesting!

Francesco DeLuca, by Theresa Hodge, A great story for the Savage Bloodline Collection. Anais-Bree naïvely believes she can avenge her husband by bringing down the local mafia Algari Crew managed by Francesco DeLuca. Anais believes that Francesco murdered her husband, if only things were that simple. There is a game of cat and mouse and betrayal. Trust is important if the truth is to surface and pride has to take second place. 4*
Sebastien DeLuca, I liked this story by Amaya Black. Sebastian DeLuca operates on the fringes with his legit businesses. The Nanny, Brie is almost invisible until she isn't. When a threat against Sebastian's immediate family pulls him from the shadows. Sebastian DeLuca's bloodline comes into force. Who will survive this threat?
This is a great collection of Mafia Alpha males and the women who steals the impossible, their hearts. 5*+

There is one story that stayed with from the DeLuca Organisation which is Vito Deluca
Vito & Nicole love story is a interesting one and I call their meeting accident. Which was a grocery store and let's just say Vito did not leave with our her number...no spoilers
They are both from different worlds but they made it work. AND let's just say Vito makes his way to the top of the food table...no spoilers and there is a happy ending promise ❤️
☆MUST READ☆

I was familiar with some of the authors and was introduced to some new ones, the stories are fast and sexy.
Definitely a good read.

If you’re freaky and lovee a good steamy, short romance story with action then this book is for you.
I will say though that after a while I wanted to call it quits because it was never ending, but I’m happy I stuck through. It’s definitely worth the read and I recommend ☺️
