Emmy nominee Anne Heche ("Hung") stars as Beth Harper in NBC's new comedy about a not so ordinary Midwestern family. After choking on a hero sandwich in her kitchen and suffering a dramatic near-death experience, Beth, an absentee wife & mother, is revived and claims she can now talk to God. Her teenage daughter Emily (Madison Davenport, "Shameless") is horrified and her husband Tom (Michael Landes, "Final Destination 2") is skeptical. To make matters worse, Tom's ex-mistress Carly McKenna (Alexandra Breckenridge, "American Horror Story") is in a coma after a close encounter with lightening in the Harper's front yard. As Beth warms up to her new life, she strives to make amends to the people she has alienated over the years, including her friends and neighbors Jenna Dennings (Heather Burns, "Bored to Death") and Maggie Tompkins (Joy Osmanski, "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia). Despite everyone's initial hesitancy, Beth begins to win people over with her new positive attitude, cheerful optimism and unbridled love.

Finally, a show that's tasteful with good acting, and is actually funny!

Anne Heche is perfectly fit for the part of Beth Harper, who, by the way, is not the perfect wife and mother. After her near death experience, Beth has become more or less a psychic, who firmly believes this "gift" comes directly from God who talks to her through her mind. All other characters are funny, also, and at last we have some good writers. I thoroughly enjoy this show, which is only third after "Last Man Standing" and "The Middle". These shows, in my opinion, are the only good, clean, and funny shows out there with good writers.

Clever new comedy that's as fresh as today's news

OK, the first 2 episodes are basically the pilot and of course they have to introduce you to the characters and the general guist of the plot and so like all pilots it's slow. But the charming Anne Heche and the clever writers of this show convinced me that I had to give Episode 3 a view. After seeing it I said "I'm starting to like this show, it's got a unique style". Of course I had to see Episode 4 and all I have to say about the show now is "Love it!".

Love Anne Heche

but this did not engage. Seemed narcissistic, self-involved...a little TOO Heche, If you go back to the movie she did with Harrison Ford... Reprise of the same character she always seems to play with a little different twist..or maybe the story/writing just wasn't as intriguing as the promo. I got bored, and tuned out,

Save Me season 1

Too bad this was canceled and we cannot see the last half of the season. I read that some religious people find it offensive. I do not find it offensive and considering all of the reality shows and bizarre shows of competition that are so highly rated, I wonder why these "groups" don't go after them. What is the incentive for keeping them off limits?

The subject of this comedy may be irreverent to some people, but after my initial shock, I find it hilarious.
