Shoddy Teen Rom-Com: Avoid at all costs
Verified purchase
Lost almost completely is the thought and mystery and wonder Scooby Doo usually has.
In its place is a terrible romance comedy with the thinnest message (people can be friends without romance).
This is a terrible script, even for a cookie-cutter teen romance, and the writers demonstrate they likely: never watched an episode of Scooby Doo; never read Nancy Drew, Sherlock Holmes, or anything of that ilk; have little understanding of humor or human emotion.

Beyond the script, the characters are shallow, vapid and self-interested (no longer the flawed comic heroes of the source materials). Perhaps you think this earns 2 stars for those parents who need their children occupied at any cost, but consider that cost: their growing minds filled with some of the worst role models available.

If you are a Scooby Doo fan, you have to watch this. But it definitely isn't the best and it's not the same as the cartoon series of course. But I was content with it and it was entertaining. I do think they should have focused more on Scooby and the mystery rather than the gang and their relationship problems. I still like the humor though. This particular mystery though I didn't really like. I like the case they worked on in the first movie more. Anyways, it's not the best but still something you should watch if you're a Scooby fan.

The direct-to-TV movies are generally not great, but this one pulls well ahead of the previous one and stands to be "passable" because the themes were alright, ending on the note that "hey, you don't have the be in relationships with your friends of other genders. You can just be friends."

Anyway no Matt Lillard so -1/10

The movie itself was great. This is one of my grandsons favorites. However, I was disappointed at the quality of the movie. It was fuzzy and hazy, more like watching one of those old VHS movies. I have a smart TV, so this was not the issue. I wish there was a way of reviewing it for quality before I actually rented it.

I really enjoyed this film

I really enjoyed this film . I didn't even mind that Fred Jones was a brunette in this . Perfect casting :D. Also , the back of this cover says Spanish for the language but it has no such option in the actual DVD I don't mind it but I wanted my Spanish speaking Scooby loving aunt to see this also like the first one ( Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins which actually has the option for Spanish ). But all in all fun movie !!!!
