At first I was hesitant because the listing said "children and women" or something like that, and I thought it was a book marketed for girls, like "Rosie" by the same author. But I was pleasantly surprised! It has a perfect mix of characters that both girls and boys will like and feel a connection to.
I haven't read it to my son yet, but I know he's gonna love it. I'll update the review after I've read it to him.
EDIT TO ADD
Just as I suspected, my son LOVED IT! The illustrations are gorgeous, and it was definitely a hit because he loves things that go. He kept flipping through the pages after I read it to him. The illustrations are one of the best things about this book. I'm very happy I chose this one!
I like that the story is about friends who are there for each other... and that one of the trucks is a female character who is strong and loyal.
The truck and tractor have pleasant smiley faces that are appealing, and there is a nice theme about venturing out to help a friend in need.
The only suggestion I would have to improve this would be to use a larger, more creative font for the text, or better yet, hand letter the text along with the illustrations. The text is a relatively small and uninspiring plain font.
Why 3.5 stars? I read this through twice and the rhyming was a little awkward for me and awkward as a read aloud. I may just be having a moment, but where the story was adorable, the rhyming was a struggle.
Overall a cute book and worthy of your picture book collection if you have kids who like wheels.

The illustrations are adorable and the reason I'm not knocking off a second star.
3 year olds also have a much smaller understanding of the English language than 7 year olds... I'm thinking that it was given such a huge age range is that the illustrations are suitable for the younger aged listener and some of the words stretch the 7 year olds. I'm qualified to work with children as well as writing for them, so I know what I'm on about ;-)
Overall a good book, just could have done with the input of crit group and editor of children's picture books before being published is all.
