Exactly what a movie should be.

Never mind that horse racing is one of the dirtiest sports ever invented; it's also the most exciting. This movie was thrilling from start to finish. Diane Lane is absolute perfection as Penny Chenery, and the supporting cast is stellar as well. Secretariat was a fascinating creature, well worth memorializing. I wouldn't be surprised if he meticulously planned his Triple Crown victory (and unbroken record). I want to see more movies like this, and fewer sequels, threequels, prequels, and Marvel Universe slop. This is a real story.

I love this movie.

I don't even know how many times I've seen this movie and every time I watch it again, I have the same reactions. it's a great story. I watched the Kentucky Derby this year and it just didn't have the same pizzaz the 1973 one did. So much commercialism, and maybe it was the station I watched but the coverage was more about the trainers and their records than the horses.

worthy of Disney's golden age

This family friendly movie has a lot to offer all ages. I admit I dislike horse racing, but was completely drawn into the story by the compelling true-life details, the well-plotted script, and the convincing acting.
