To start with this story is SHORT!!!! so extremely short and that made it disappointing for me. The story is great, despite it being short in nature. Cassie, sister to a loser gambling addicted brother goes to Hagen, a loan shark with a terrifying reputation, to pay off his supposed $5000 loan, only to find out its really thirty thousand dollars!! unable to pay that amount of her college students income, Cassie is stunned! Till Hagen makes her a offer she can’t and neither wants to refuse. Cassie is wildly attracted to Hagen and Hagen treats her like a princess. Is it really all about the money for Hagen.

Again this book is short and even though you find out Hagen and Cassie’s back story, I found myself wishing there was just a little more to the story. This book is a great introduction to Roxy Rivera’s new Russian Protectors series.

I really enjoyed this short about Hagen the loan shark who is mentioned in several other books and the college girl "rocket scientist" he gets involved with. I am completely addicted to Roxie Rivera's Russian Protectors series and the related books especially the Fighting Connollys. I really had only two complaints about this book and both are minor. The main one is the cover art. It really put me off. It does not represent either character. I know especially in a short story the cover is probably just a stock photo but I almost didn't read it because I really disliked the cover. I know - shallow on my part - but nevertheless true. The brother was the other problem. He was too ready to reform his vices. Since he was the catalyst of the story he should have had a bit more depth. If these two things were changed I would have given this 5 stars without question. I do hope that Ms. Rivera will go back at some point and flesh out this story and continue with Hagan and Cassie in a longer book. I like both of them a lot and would like to know more about them.

Settling her brother's debt was her main focus until she share a moment with Hagen. Hagen is over protective and gentle with her. He seems to have it planned that she would be his.

Ok so this is a really short book and because it's short things roll along quickly but not in a way that you feel the book is rushed. If fact the story line is so good she could have made a full book.

But I went to her website where she states there will be a second to this novella.

Or and she has some free shorts from her Russian series you can download.

This was hot and sexy. Love the alpha male. I also like the fact that she's the first girl I've read who has some trouble taking in such a big man. In so many books we have these virginess girls and men who are huge but they have no trouble taking them. This was more realistic.

I just found R.R a couple days ago and I'm now a firm fan. She writes hot provocative books even the shorts.

This story was okay. I don't feel it was love between the two main characters. It starts off right away with Hagen getting down and dirty with Cassie. She went to his office to barter for her brother's life and got F'd instead. Believe me, she didn't put up much resistance. I felt for Hagen, it was the triumph of getting someone so innocent and Cassie was easily manipulated. The story was short and no confessions of love. There was no climax, suspense or road blocks for the supposed relationship.

Cassie has managed to scrape together four thousand dollars, to help pay off her brother Ronnie's debt to Hagen one of Houston's most dangerous loan sharks. Cassie has repeatedly tried to talk to Ronnie about his gambling addiction, but it falls on deaf ears. Entering the bar which Hagen operates out of, she is shown into the back office by one of his men, a large evil looking guy. But if she thought his hired help was huge, he was nothing once she stood in front of Hagen 6' 5" at least, and all of him pure muscle, very dark and dangerous looking, even in the expensive suit he was wearing. Cassie puts down the four grand to pay off as much of the five grand her brother owes. But Ronnie has lied to her, he owes Hagen thirty thousand. Cassie could never get together that much money, and fears for her brothers safety. Hagen has a proposition for Cassie. Her body to pay off the debt, she informs Hagen shes a college co-ed not a whore. Hagen knows all about Cassie, in fact he already was attracted to her. Faced with the possibility of her brother being hurt she agrees.

Intrigued by the title of this erotic short story, I just couldn't resist and had to download this, I must say I was very pleasantly surprised. It is well written with really hot love scenes. Cassie is a loyal and honest girl, she despises Hagen's business, and the criminal aspects of it. But Hagen isn't as dark as he is painted, as Cassie discovers.

A short story that for me had the potential to be made into a full length story. The characters are very well developed given the limited amount of pages. I will certainly be checking out more from this author.
