Being a Peacemaker isn’t easy. They’re charged with setting the terms and doing anything which needs to be done—even if it personally costs them everything. They must learn to honor the threat to all life, and, in the end, they must stand or fall, based on their own convictions.
Welcome back to the Four Horsemen universe, where only a willingness to fight and die for money separates Humans from the majority of the other races. Edited by Mia R. Kleve and bestselling author Kevin Ikenberry, “Set the Terms” includes fourteen all-new Peacemaker-themed stories in the Four Horsemen universe by a variety of bestselling authors—and some you may not have heard of…yet.
From pigs flying to cats landing on their feet, “Set the Terms” shows Peacemakers at work from the origin of the guild to present day. Journey with a Lumar Peacemaker as he tries to complete his first mission and watch as a Phidae Peacemaker tries to complete his final one. They will have to use their wits as well as their weapons if they hope to remain standing at the end of the day.
Are you ready to set the terms? If so, then step inside!

His favorite is military science fiction. However, he also pens Zombie Apocalypse (ZA) in the form of his 2016 Dragon Finalist "A Time to Die", book 1 in the Turning Point series. The series is complete and available on Amazon, continuing with Book 2, "A Time to Run", and finishing with "A Time to Live", released earlier this year.
His most successful works to date can be found in the Four Horsemen Universe (4HU), which he created and now shares with a slew of incredible authors including his partner and publisher, Chris Kennedy. The first book in the series, Cartwright's Cavaliers, was his 2nd Dragon Award Finalist in 2017. In the 4HU, nine books were published in 2017, and 20 (yes twenty) more released in 2018. Among those was A Fiery Sunset, coauthored with Chris Kennedy, it was his 3rd Dragon Award finalist. Since then the series has continued to expand and branch out, including a YA series (Black and White). If you love Military Sci-fi, this is the series for you, with well over 50 books and more coming every month!

Marisa Wolf was born in New England, and raised on Boston sports teams, Star Wars, Star Trek, and the longest books in the library (usually fantasy). Over the years she majored in English in part to get credits for reading (this...only partly worked), taught middle school, was headbutted by an alligator, built a career in education, earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and finally decided to finish all those half-started stories in her head.
She’s currently based in Texas, but has moved into an RV with her husband and their two ridiculous rescue dogs, and it's anyone's guess where in the country she is at any given moment. Learn more at www.marisawolf.net

Bill grew up in West Tennessee, riding his bike on narrow rural roads lined with wild blackberry bushes, in the days before urban sprawl. He spent those long rides dreaming of new worlds of adventure. Childhood for him was one interesting activity after another, from front yard football to naval miniatures, but from the very beginning reading was the central pillar of his life.
Any and all military history books fascinated him, beginning before age 8. By his teenage years he had discovered J.R.R. Tolkien and Robert E. Howard, Robert Heinlein and Fritz Leiber. Teachers ripped comic books out of his hands during Spanish and Accounting class. Oops!
After majoring in Creative Writing in college, he turned to writing history and non-fiction and was published a number of times, including in World War Two magazine.
In September of 2014 he wrote the first pages of what would become Standing The Final Watch, and its prequels and sequels in the Last Brigade Universe. Thus, at age 60, his career in fiction had just begun.
Still living in West Tennessee with his wife of 42 years and 8 dogs, four of which are Search and Rescue certified police dogs, life has turned out better than he could ever have dreamed. Yet Bill never forgets that it is you, his readers, who make this possible. There is a covenant between writer and reader that is always uppermost in his mind. Readers who spend their time and money to read an author's works, deserve the best that author has to offer, and he never forgets that.
Bill is proud to be a member of the International Authors of Science Fiction Authors, the Science Fiction Writers of America, the Society For Military History and the Alliance of Independent Authors. I’ve been in Colorado since I was a young teenager. I grew up in a military family and traveled all over before ending up in Colorado. I currently live in the foothills of Pikes Peak with my wife, two children and various dogs and cats. I have a crazy technology background having founded several tech companies centering around human machine interfaces before I discovered a passion for writing.
When I’m not slinging the ink and trying to get paid to fabricate tales that entertain, I like to shoot competitively, drink craft beer, ride motorcycles and play games with friends.
I am a retired Air Force veteran who’s flown rescue and special ops C-130’s for 18 years. I’ve been to all the places and done all the things. Now I’m hoping to translate those experiences to science fiction and fantasy. So far I’ve weaseled my way into Mark Wandrey and Chris Kennedy’s Four Horsemen Universe as well as Bayonet Books Storming Area 51 anthology, but I’ve been working on other things as well. I’m primarily in military science fiction, but have hopes to write some alternate history and possibly some military fantasy. We’ll see, the ride’s just getting started.

There are also stories that introduce Peacemakers new to the Reader or have not made many appearances so far in the series. I like how the Peacemaker in Chris Kennedy’s story, Curiosity Killed the Pushtal, went about getting things done. Jon R. Osborne has a double winner on his hands, his pair of Peacemakers, Ozar and Qivek. Plus the two humans in his story, Lars Nilsson and Jost. I was intrigued by the life cycle of the Peacemaker in Marisa Wolf’s story, Unforced Errors. I enjoyed reading Shadows in the Key of Fear by William Alan Webb and loved the ending. Mentally I pictured the Peacemaker listening to Another One Bites the Dust.
Get on board! You are in for wild adventures. There is much to see and do as we follow these soon-to-be or seasoned Peacemakers. You will not regret it.
