The Magician has lost his memories of Sara. An amorphous new and deadly enemy threatens the world and Sara is, for all intents and purposes, on her own. The pace is brisk, the story a confusing game of catch-up: the bad guys always a step ahead, and the Magician chasing after his memories to try to understand what is going on.

The story is good, the new enemy now exposed to be dealt with in future books, but the biggest change is the re-set in the relationship of the Magician and Sara. I have always been a tiny bit put off by the way the Magician treated Sara. Granted that he is dramatically older. Granted that he was, and perhaps still is, much more powerful than she. But I felt he was a bit too aloof, too removed, even though he was romantically involved with her.
Now, without the memories, he is meeting her as an equal of sorts, a strong woman who cares for him. He finds emotion within himself that is tied to her and he sees her for herself as a person of value. This is a major shift in their relationship and one that I am thrilled to see. Looking forward to future adventures.

The shadow court has made itself known again as a centuries old nemesis of the Arcana Council. Devastating pharmaceuticals are impacting the Connecteds, with evil intent. Justice's library holds the key to it all. From the wilds a hunt for a relic leads to the uncovering of centuries of hidden truths, corruption, and evil. Justice will prevail, and love conquers all. This was heart stomping good. Action, superb twisty mystery. These just keep getting better, with fresh new stories. You have got to read this series! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I love these characters and I love the new series. This, for me, was by far the most enjoyable book in the new series. Jenn Stark did a great job at conveying Sara's emotions, and I found myself getting angry because, like Sara, that's not how the Magician behaves. I also appreciated the fact that the beginning of the story took Sara back to her tarot card reading, artifact hunting days of the previous series. This book also spent time with my favorite Arcana Council members and I'm extremely worried about what's in store for Brody later on. I also found myself completely satisfied with the ending, while still being upset about the problems at hand, and looking forward to the next book.

Once again you are taken for a roller coaster ride. You get pulled in 500 different directions. Then given all these names, faces, and history to sort out. I feel like I crammed for my biochem test the night before and not even sure I remember my own name after reading all of that. I love the main characters. I just am tired of the same storyline. Not in the sense of what is happening but how everything comes about. Everyone is running around trying to figure out what is going on and then you are giving million of information for you to retain and put into use. Then at the end you are like ??????????? Will I re-read? No. Do I recommend? I am hesitant on this. It was a great series to me before- but this style of writing and the open ending is not my cup of tea. So I will have to leave this up to your discretion.

It's not often I give ebooks 5* ratings and this might be more 4.5*, but it's the best book Jenn Stark has written in a while. The Shadow Court has it all, action, romance, mystery, and non-stop pacing. What it does not do is wrap things up, which is where the 4.5* comes in. Stark must write more Sara Wilde books, but that's not altogether a bad thing. She outdid herself with this one. I just wish we got further along the plotline of the Shadow Court. That was left dangling, which is kind of annoying. Still, richly imagined and well written. Read and enjoy.

The first three books of the Wilde Justice series seemed to be more or less stand alone adventures. We should have known better. The arc Wilde Justice will take is loosely made clear and it's also clear each previous book laid substantial groundwork. Deft work on Ms Stark's part. Characters grow and shine, new and inventive plots appear, and it's just so thrilling and also moving. When you finish, make sure to go back to chapter fifteen to fully realize what they speak about at the finish. I teared up and I bet so will you!

Who is she now, has she lost who she was pre ascension to the Council? The journey she has to go on is complicated, filled with action, deception and constant danger. I can't wait for the next book!

Action -packed and full of puzzles, not all of which are solved. This series has an overall story arc, but each book usually ends with a resolution for that particular story. This one, not so much. Not quite a cliff hanger, but definitely "to be continued." Love this world and it's characters . There is a lot of love and compassion throughout this series and that makes a warm read even when it's st it's darkest.

This is such a good book. When I first started it I was excited because I thought it was a return to the story's roots. It sort of is, however, its much better than that, its more about growth, sometimes in different ways, but we see the characters learning about themselves and each other. It grabbed me more than the first 3 books of the Wilde Justice series and I am definitely ready for the next installment to see how it develops. It was great to see more interplay between the rest of the Arcana Council.
