The Shark Wheel Advantage
|
|
|
---|---|---|
Less Friction, More SpeedShark Wheels produce less friction when the wheels are in motion, producing a smoother ride at higher speeds. Combined with California-made high-rebound polyurethane which gives the skateboard extra speed, range, and comfort. |
More Grip & Slide ControlThe Shark Wheel spins as it slides acting like a car's antilock brakes. The sine wave design provides three lips on each wheel while the traditional wheel only has one lip. This provides superior lateral grip for when you want to slide, they break away smoothly and recover easily. |
More Traction Over Various TerrainShark Wheels tend to push small objects left and right, out of the way when riding to produce a smooth ride. These Wheels were designed to explore the world, whether it be down backroads, taking hard curves, or at the skate park. |

Commitment to Innovation
Shark Wheel is based and manufactured out of California, dedicated to developing innovative and technologically sound wheels in the marketplace. David Patrick’s discovery led to the reinvention of the wheel, which is flat on six sides and displays many performance advantages such as friction in motion, longevity, rebound, abrasion resistance, and off-road performance. Shark Wheel worked with the Mechanical Engineering Department out of San Diego State University to ensure the sine wave motion of the Shark Wheel was able to perform through lab and real world applications. Shark Wheels are made in California and strive to have the best high-rebound polyurethane in the world. This leads to a fast and smooth riding experience for the skateboarder.

As if it drew scant attention to design, this board seems even slipperier than my other short plastic cruiser —that is, a "pennyboard"—why I would barely try to ride it, although the trucks offer more clearance. And, given Shark Wheels' retail price, it's basically free. I might move the wheels to my wooden cruiser .
[UPDATE, 4 JUNE 2022: In light of a later review, I tested my board and found that one side's wheels spun well, whereas the other side spun okay, thus neither side as poorly as in the later review's video. By comparison, on my wooden cruiser, pricier and having better bearings, one side's spun freely, whereas the other side's spun very well. (Whatever the odds, both boards showed a spin quality specific to left side versus right side, despite there being no mechanistic link.)]
I gave it 4-stars as the pivot cups in the trucks started to shred after a very short time. I feel like if you are going to upgrade the wheels, why not toss some better urethane in the pivots/bushings?
The shark wheels work well enough in this circumstance - they definitely help getting you over rough pavement, small twigs, and the occasional pebble. The bearings felt decent as well, and I was able to get sufficient speed.
This skateboard would be best suited for a younger or casual rider, or to toss in the trunk of your car (along with a helmet) to always have it available for impromptu skate shenanigans!

Not sure about the shark wheels, I don’t think they feel all that smooth. I still love my seismic and gum ball wheels. I’ll really have to reevaluate after I make some adjustments so my rating is based on how I received this board, which needs some work.
Made in China like everything now a days. Quality is ok.
