This was a good addition to Shane and Beth’s story. Although, I started skipping over the sex scenes. I think the story would have been fine without describing it in detail for at least five pages every time. I think Beth needs to believe in the love of her man and stop letting other vindictive women make her doubt his love.
There was a side story, Cooper and Sam. I felt Sam wasn’t the same easy going but bad arse bodyguard as in Shane’s last story. He was more childlike and Cooper like a parent. I don’t think I will read their story, Cooper continuously hurts Sam but keeps stringing him along. Sam is so in love with him and keeps getting his heart crushed. I use to be a fan of Cooper but I don’t like him in this story.
On another note, I’m not interested in Jamie and Molly’s story either. In this one she’s basically not giving him the time of day, and honestly she didn’t impress me.

I have loved this serious from the time I read the very first word in Book 1 - Vulnerable. April Wilson brings to life all the characters with her detailed description of their appearance and personalities. And her book covers, to ME, accurately depicts what I think Beth, Shane and Lia's characters would look like in real life, which only makes the stories even more believable and real. I got lost in the story of each book and THAT is exactly what a good author should strive for each and every time. Shattered did all that and more. I simply couldn't put the book down and I was irritated that I couldn't stay awake last night to finish it. But alas, I did finish it this morning and now I sit here again, anxiously awaiting the release of Book 5. I have over 1100 books stored on my Cloud and on my Kindle, with various subject matters and very talented authors, from all walks of life. April Wilson's level of writing raises the bar tremendously and she has quickly become my all time favorite author. If you're looking for a series that will make your heart flutter and take you away from it all while you get lost in the story, then get the McIntyre Security Body Guard Series by April Wilson.

I love how the author really sucks us into the story. I especially like how Shane is an alpha male but also a purring tame kitten. His constant compassion and thoughtfulness make us all wuIsh we could marry such a guy. Too bad there aren’t real men out there that are so constantly attentive and gentle with their wives I believe if more men would read this series they’d understand what women really want in a partner! This is a great series and I could barely put it down to sleep and eat.

I keep reading these books because I really love the characters, but the writing is gradually getting worse. This one is the continuing story of Beth and Shane as they get ready for their wedding. All the familiar characters show up as well as an evil-doer from Shane’s past. The repetition is unbelievable. We are told at least four times that people will spend the night after the wedding in case they had too much to drink. Shane tells Beth their plans for the wedding - the same exact conversation they had some pages ago. In this book Gus is a yellow lab, in the previous book, he was a black lab, and in the book before that, I believe he was yellow, but he may have actually been golden. And…Shane’s parents fly into Chicago, but they’re being picked up at LaGuardia??? I can’t even.

I’ve really become fond of the characters in the McIntyre Security series, and not just Beth & Shane…I’ve become very fond of Sam & Cooper and can’t wait to read more about their relationship. I also love Lia; she’s fierce and protective of those she loves, but is actually rather insecure. I’m looking forward to reading Jamie & Molly’s story too. Although these books have some similarities to another rather famous series, April has given her characters great depth and she tackles difficult issues and I’m sure a lot of readers will be able to relate at least one of them.

You'd think after a third book about Beth and Shane that I'd be tired of reading about them but I don't think there's any such thing when it comes to this couple. By now I have such a soft spot for them and a love of April Wilson's writing and it was lovely to catch up with my favourite couple from the series so far as they juggled even more obstacles. It was also a treat to be introduced to Cooper and Sam as a couple in this book and I cannot wait for their story or for Molly and Jamie's story. This has become one of my favourite series!

This book is the continuation of Beth and Shane's story about how their relationship continues to blossom after the death of Howard Kline. A couple of twists along the way, but ultimetly this book takes us on the next part of our favourite characters journey.

Great to catch up with all the siblings too and very much looking forward to the next book in the series.
