The love story of Maribel and Lance was....okay. Good storyline, action and editing was on point. However for me it was missing ...something. That little oomph and chemistry between the characters that make you want to know their story.

A good storyline with suspense, danger, secrets, and romance. Maribel is in witness protection. Lance is on a Delta Forces team. Neither looks for love, but their attraction grows. The final danger in the story seemed a bit rushed. However, the book was enjoyable to read overall. The epilogue was great.

Two confirmed singles who end up catching feelings and then must unpack all the baggage they brought with them: including a stalker-y ex-girlfriend and a homicidal felon father. I enjoyed this book so much. It has a little bit of a fake relationship feeling to it with the way Mirabel and Lance are fighting against anything that might be considered a real feeling. I found it quite special to watch them both come out from behind their defenses and get vulnerable with each other. Also, that might be the best ending ever. I’m still laughing.
