Outstanding film told from the heart by writer/director Rosemary Rodriguez, and starring an amazing ensemble (Barbara Bain, George Hamilton, Alex Rocco, Mariette Hartley, and many more!). A group of seniors fight to save their homes in a rental complex being sold off as condos, in this movie that is both laugh-out-loud funny and intensely shocking and dramatic. There's nothing like SILVER SKIES! Highly recommended for film lovers!

I watched this film on Netflix last night and enjoyed it so much I had to purchase my own copy. I will be re-watching it often. Jack McGee is absolutely wonderful! George Hamilton is funny and heart rendering! I really love the scenes with Jack McGee and Mariette Hartley! Jack definitely deserves more leading roles! Barbara Bain and Valery Perrine owned the screen in their scenes. Jack Betts and Alex Rocco were terrific!! Good job Rosemary Rodriguez! and Thank you for such an enjoyable movie!

Refreshing Film

A wonderful film, written and directed by Rosemary Rodriguez. A brilliant ensemble cast of actors who show us they all still have the sparkle. While all the cast are very good, the outstanding ones for me are Barbara Bain as the feisty Eve who won't go down without a fight; George Hamilton as Phil who is slowly descending into Alzheimer;s and sometimes think he's Dean Martin; and Mariette Hartley as the mystery woman Harriet who carries a dark secret from her past with her.
I've watched it 4 times since I got it and know I'll watch it much more. It's refreshing to see normal older people depicted on film. We all know life doesn't stop at 40.

Watchable but so-so

The movie has a stellar cast of actors of advanced age. With this ensemble, there was a lot of potential. The script was just too silly, and the production was very cheap. The character developments were shallow and the comedy element didn't work that well. It's watchable, but only just about.

There is nothing to dislike in this funny, yet remarkably thoughtful, tale of a community faced with eviction....
The all-star cast, headed by George Hamilton and Valerie Perrine, bring to focus a dilemma faced by too many
who reach the golden age.
Valerie Perrine's performance, especially, is unforgettable !

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It is a very moving portrayal of the lives of senior citizens and the hardships they sometimes endure with the use of comedy to make the point. You could not ask for a better cast. It was so wonderful to see these "senior" actors exhibiting their craft. If you are over 60 or know someone who is, definitely watch this movie. Beautifully directed by Rosemary Rodriguez.
